Emily Lockhart (born December 15, 1994), known professionally as Emma Lockhart, is an American journalist and former child actor, best known for her roles as a young Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins , and Laura in Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective .

She has since transitioned to broadcast journalism as an adult, and currently works in Phoenix, Arizona as a reporter for the "Arizona's Family" duopoly of KTVK/KPHO-TV (channels 3/5) owned by Meredith Corporation. [1]

Acting career

She had numerous small roles in television, movies, and the stage.

Lockhart also appeared in The Seeker , as Gwen Stanton. [2]

She was the young Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins (2005).

She was the female lead in Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective , which was released in March 2009, direct to video.

Reporting career

Lockhart then attended Arizona State University, majoring in communications as a student at the school's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, which produces newscasts for sister operation KAET (channel 8), [3] where she reported, and also anchored the Monday evening edition of the school's Cronkite News broadcast. [4] After graduation, she then worked for two years as a multimedia journalist and weather presenter for KERO-TV (channel 23) in Bakersfield, California, [5] before she took her current position as a reporter with KTVK/KPHO. [1]

KNXV-TV is a television station in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, affiliated with ABC. It was established in 1979 as the Phoenix area's second independent station with part-time subscription television programming from ON TV. It was originally owned by the New Television Corporation, which had attempted to set up the station for nearly five years prior to its launch. In 1985, Scripps-Howard Broadcasting, the broadcast division of the E. W. Scripps Company, acquired KNXV-TV. Channel 15 affiliated with Fox in 1986 and became the leading independent in the market, one of Fox's strongest affiliates. In 1994, Fox announced a multi-city affiliation agreement with New World Communications which included Phoenix's then-CBS affiliate, KSAZ-TV, and mostly CBS affiliates in several other major markets. Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective is a 2009 American made-for-television adventure comedy film standalone sequel to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, without involvement from either lead actor Jim Carrey or writer Steve Oedekerk. On July 27, 2007, two AS-350 AStar helicopters from television stations KNXV-TV and KTVK collided in mid-air over Phoenix, Arizona, United States, while covering a police pursuit. On board the two aircraft were four people in total – pilot Craig Smith and photographer Rick Krolak from KNXV, and pilot Scott Bowerbank and photographer Jim Cox from KTVK – all of whom were killed, while no casualties were reported on the ground.
