Emmanuel Baptist College is a Baptist secondary school located at Tanke in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It is a mixed private mission school. It is affiliated with the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
Emmanuel Baptist College, Ilorin was established by Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ilorin on October 9, 2000. [1] Emmanuel Baptist College is a registered member of the Nigerian Baptist Convention of Private Schools. It participates in the yearly organized Baptist Mission Schools Seminars and workshops. It is run by a committee from the church. A principal is appointed by the committee to manage the affairs of the school.
Emmanuel Baptist College is an approved NECO SSCE and WASSCE centre.
Emmanuel Baptist College holds its interhouse sport competition annually or bi-annually. The sports in the competition are football, march past, table tennis, long and short-distance races and marathon race.

University of Ilorin, also known as Unilorin, is a federal government-owned university in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The university sits on an expansive area of land, about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin; making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 17 faculties and over 100 academic departments. It was established by a decree of the federal military government in August, 1975. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan, which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower, which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. The Rev. Dr. Solomon Adeniyi Babalola was a Nigerian Baptist pastor who lived and served in Nigeria, Ghana, Canada, and the United States. Born in Oke-Ila Orangun, Nigeria, he graduated from his initial pastoral training in December 1949 from the three-year theology course of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho. He is reputed to be one of the two youngest Nigerian nationals ever recruited into the ministry by American missionaries, during a late-1940s drive led by Seminary President Dr. J.C. Pool, assisted by indigenous pastors. Babalola was consecrated as a Baptist trained pastor at the age of 20.
