Employed to Serve was formed in 2011 [1] by current members Justine Jones and Sammy Urwin. [5] In July 2020, several members of Employed to Serve and Renounced released an EP as the side project Glorious. [6] [7]

Their album Conquering was elected by Loudwire as the 41st best rock/metal album of 2021. [8] The track "Exist" was elected by the same publication as the 6th best metal song of the same year. [9]

Musical style

The group's sound has been described as a mixture of death metal, hardcore punk, post-hardcore and metalcore, among other genres. [1] [10] [7] [11] The band cited Machine Head, Testament and Exodus as influences on Conquering, their latest full-length release. [3]

King Conquer was an American deathcore band from Naples, Florida. Since the band's inception, they released two EPs independently before being signed to Mediaskare Records where the group released their debut album entitled America's Most Haunted on November 23, 2010. The band's second album, titled 1776, was released on July 16, 2013.

Tetrarch is an American heavy metal band originally from Atlanta, Georgia and now based in Los Angeles. They have released three EPs and two albums. Their latest, Unstable, was released in April 2021.

Beartooth is an American rock band founded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Shomo in Columbus, Ohio, in 2012. Originally Shomo performed every instrument when in the studio, before being joined by a four-piece band. Beatdown hardcore is a subgenre of hardcore punk with prominent elements of heavy metal. Beatdown hardcore features aggressive vocals, gang vocals, heavy guitar riffs and breakdowns and lyrics discussing unity, brotherhood, volatile interpersonal relationships and machismo. The genre has its origins in late 1980s New York hardcore bands such as Breakdown, Killing Time and Madball, and was pioneered in the mid-1990s by bands like Bulldoze, Terror Zone and Neglect. The definition of the genre has expanded over time to incorporate artists increasingly indebted to metal, notably Xibalba, Sunami and Knocked Loose.

Iridescent is the fourth studio album by American metalcore band Silent Planet. The album was released on November 12, 2021, through UNFD and Solid State Records. It was co-produced by Drew Fulk, Daniel Braunstein and guitarist Mitchell Stark. It is the last album to feature the band's bassist and clean vocalist Thomas Freckleton before he left the band in June 2023 due to wanting to spend more time with his family and having a fusion in his spine which had only gotten more painful over the years.
