Josep Enric Millo i Rocher (born 24 November 1960),is a Spanish politician for PP.
He has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Professor of Economics and Organizational Structures at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (1987-1988),and the School of Tourism (1987-1989). He served as territorial delegate of the Department of Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia,in Girona,between 1991 and 1995.
Millo,who began his political career as leader of the Democratic Union of Catalonia,has been a deputy of the Parliament of Catalonia some legislatures. [1] He was a deputy in Parliament for CiU between 1995 and 2003,and reached be the deputy speaker of the parliamentary group between 1999 and 2003. Subsequently,and when in the Catalan elections of 2003 the party decided that he was not head of the list for Girona,and went to PP. Since 2010,and until 2016,he was the spokesperson of the parliamentary group of the PPC in Parliament.
He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the PPC since 2004;Executive Secretary of Internal Communication of the PPC (2006);President of the PPC of Girona since 2008;and vice-secretary of political and economic action of the PPC since 2012.
He was the head of list of the PP in Gerona for the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia of 2010.
Deputy for Girona of the Eleventh Legislature of the Parliament of Catalonia [2] in November 2016 was appointed Government delegate in Catalonia to replace María de los Llanos de Luna, [3] [4] taking office on 21. [5] [6] He was in office in October 2017 when the Referendum on the independence of Catalonia took place,a subsequent politically motivated general strike was enforced by the Catalan nationalist government,in protest at what it claimed to be violence in the actions of the Spanish police when carrying out the judicial orders to prevent voting. After the Catalan government declared an illegal Catalan declaration of independence and consequently the Spanish Senate imposed direct rule over Catalonia,Millo continued to have an important role. Several Catalan town councils in the hands of radical independentist movements approved motions declaring him persona non grata,such as Montblanc,Vic or Girona. [7] [8]
His term ended on 19 June 2018, [9] when he was replaced by Teresa Cunillera, [10] after Mariano Rajoy's Government was ousted following the no confidence vote against Rajoy at the motion of censure on 2 June 2018.
Josep Irla i Bosch was a Catalan businessman and politician. He was a deputy in the Parliament of Catalonia and the Spanish Congress in 1932,as an Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya affiliate. He was also the last President of Parliament of Catalonia at the end of Republican Catalan resistance in the Spanish Civil War,before Francisco Franco abolished the Generalitat of Catalonia. He was elected President of the Parliament of Catalonia on 1 October 1938. In office,Irla pushed for cooperation with the allies,Basque nationalists and other anti-Francoist groups,though excluding the communists. He became the President-in-exile of the Generalitat after Lluís Companys was executed. During his time as President-in-exile,he established a Government in exile,and appointed Josep Tarradellas as Conseller en Cap. He resigned as President in 1954.

A referendum on the approval of the Catalan Statute of Autonomy was held in Catalonia on Thursday,25 October 1979. Voters were asked whether they ratified a proposed Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia bill organizing the provinces of Barcelona,Gerona,Lérida and Tarragona into an autonomous community of Spain. The final draft of the bill had been approved by the Catalan Assembly of Parliamentarians on 29 December 1978,and by the Congress of Deputies on 13 August 1979,but it required ratification through a binding referendum and its subsequent approval by the Spanish Cortes Generales,as established by Article 151 of the Spanish Constitution of 1978. The referendum was held simultaneously with a similar vote in the Basque Country.
The 2017 Catalan regional election was held on Thursday 21 December 2017 to elect the 12th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The election was called by Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy after the invocation of Article 155 of the 1978 Spanish Constitution to enforce direct rule in Catalonia and the subsequent dismissal of the Catalan government under President Carles Puigdemont. The three pro-Catalan independence parties won a slim majority of parliamentary seats,claiming 70 out of 135,but fell short of a majority in the popular vote by securing 47.6% of the share.

The trial of Catalonia independence leaders,legally named Causa Especial 20907/2017 and popularly known as the Causa del procés,was an oral trial that began on 12 February 2019 in the Supreme Court of Spain. The case was tried by seven judges and was chaired by judge Manuel Marchena. Judge Pablo Llarena had previously coordinated an instruction between October 2017 and July 2018,as a result of which 12 people were tried,including the previous vice president Oriol Junqueras of the regional government and most of the cabinet as well as political activists Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Cuixart and the former Speaker of the Parliament of Catalonia Carme Forcadell. Some defendants remained in pre-trial detention without bail from the beginning of the instruction process and have thus already served part of their sentence.
