Enrica Lexie (called Olympic Sky since 2013) is an Italian Aframax oil-tanker. In 2012, the ship was involved in the shooting of two Indian fisherman in the Laccadive Sea.
The Enrica Lexie was built in 2008. She was originally owned by Naples-based Dolphin Tankers whose parent company is Fratelli d'Amato. [1] [2]
On 15 February 2012, the Enrica Lexia was involved in the shooting of two fisherman in the Laccadive Sea off the Indian coast. [3] The tanker was taken to the port of Kochi on 17 February 2012 under escort by the Indian Coast Guard. [4] The ship was allowed to leave 80 days later, on 6 May 2012 after the owners posted a surety bond. [5]
In 2013, she was renamed as Olympic Sky and registered under a Greek flag; vessel management was transferred to Olympic Shipping & Management SA. [1] [6] AIS plots show the tanker operating in the Indian Ocean region. [7] [8]
In 2015, the tanker was registered again in the Marshall Islands. [9] [10]

The size of the spill is estimated to have been 40,900 to 120,000 m3, or 257,000 to 750,000 barrels. In 1989, the Exxon Valdez oil spill was listed as the 54th largest spill in history.

MT Phoenix was a tanker which went aground in heavy seas at Sheffield Beach just north of Ballito near Durban, South Africa on the morning of 26 July 2011. The vessel was on its way to India to be scrapped when it ran aground. After three attempts, it was refloated, towed and then scuttled and sunk in 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) of water, about 80 kilometres (43 nmi) offshore of Amanzimtoti, south of Durban. The vessel was reportedly owned by either Suhair Khan of Dubai or Marika Investments, Lagos, Nigeria.

India alleged that the two Italian marines aboard the Italian-flagged commercial oil tanker MB Enrica Lexie killed the fishermen.
