Eon was a full-color print magazine devoted to CCP Games' massively-multiplayer online sci-fi game Eve Online . The magazine was launched in October 2005 and discontinued in 2013 after 30 issues. Eon was produced by MMM Publishing under license from CCP Games and sold via the Eve Online website. The magazine was distributed to more than 80 countries worldwide. Eon was the first magazine worldwide that could only be bought on the internet.[ citation needed ]
Eon was first published in Autumn 2005 and cost US$14.95, sold through the official store on CCP's Eve Online website. The first issue ran to 68 pages, containing a wide mixture of articles dedicated solely to the game of Eve Online – the first time an MMO game was supported by a commercially available, ongoing magazine title.[ citation needed ]
Issue #001 was reprinted (as Issue #001.1 on the masthead) in April 2006 after supplies of the first issue were eventually sold out. Eon differed from most commercially available magazines in that each issue had a fixed print run and was continually sold on the online store site, regardless of whether subsequent issues had been released until the entire supply of an issue was sold out.[ citation needed ]
Eon was discontinued after Issue #030, which was released as a digital publication in January 2013. [1]

Since 2007, Eon had also conducted the annual Eon Awards, recognising notable players, corporations and alliances' achievements within the game and its community. [2]
In April 2008, Eon worked in conjunction with www.eve-maps.com to produce a hard-copy book version of the site's Eve Strategic Maps. ESM was a 74-page, ring-bound 'atlas' of every region in the game's universe, detailing every system's transport network, resources, NPC types and player outposts. Each copy of Eve Strategic Maps came with a set of stickers allowing players to update the information on regions according to player activity in-game (hence the 'Strategic' aspect of the title). [3]
Eve Strategic Maps has since been updated with an expanded second edition, containing a clearer information presentation style and a system index for easier referencing. Each copy of ESM was also sold with a large-scale 'poster map', the first edition's being a general route map of the entire universe, the second being a detailed overview map of the game's 'low-sec' regions (areas of space prolific with PvP gameplay).[ citation needed ]

Novator Partners and General Catalyst had previously collectively owned a majority stake in the company, and in September 2018, CCP was acquired by South Korean video game publisher Pearl Abyss for $425 million. CCP Games is best known for developing Eve Online, which was released in 2003 and has since been maintained.

Eve: Dust 514 was a free-to-play first-person shooter developed by CCP Games for the PlayStation 3. Dust 514 took place in New Eden and was directly connected to CCP's game Eve Online. There was direct interaction between the two; player actions in one game affected the political, economic, legal, environmental, and social status of the other. The two games were officially connected on January 10, 2013 in preparation for the open beta on January 22. The full game was released worldwide on May 14, 2013. While previews of the game were highly positive, the full game received a mixed reception upon its initial release. It received constant updates and hotfixes deployed after release. The game was shut down by CCP on May 30, 2016.

Massively multiplayer online first-person shooter game (MMOFPS) mixes the genres of first-person shooter and massively multiplayer online games, possibly in the form of web browser-based games, in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual world. In other words, an MMOFPS is a real-time, online gaming experience to be played within a massive in-game area which features many simultaneous players in a first-person shooter fashion. Eve: Valkyrie is a multiplayer dogfighting shooter game set in the Eve Online universe that is designed to use virtual reality headset technology. Originally launched for Microsoft Windows for use with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, CCP Games has announced they plan to enable cross-platform play between the three major VR systems: the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive, and the PlayStation VR. Released in March 2016, the game has two game mode options: Chronicles can be played in single player, while Combat allows eight by eight combat PvP missions. Reviews generally criticised the limited plot and limitations of single player mode, although the described "arcade experience" was praised for having intuitive controls and "exhilarating" dogfighting features, with PC Powerplay dubbing it "arguably the best VR experience currently available for the [Oculus Rift] platform."
The Bloodbath of B-R5RB or the Battle of B-R5RB was a massive-scale virtual battle fought in the MMORPG space game EVE Online in January 2014, possibly the largest player-versus-player battle in history at the time. The 21-hour-long conflict pitted the Clusterfuck Coalition and Russian alliances (CFC/Rus) against the N3 and Pandemic Legion (N3/PL), and involved over 7,548 player characters with a maximum of 2,670 players in the B-R5RB system at one time. The in-game cost of the losses totalled over 11 trillion Interstellar Kredit (ISK), an estimated theoretical real-world value of $300,000 to $330,000 USD derived from the value of PLEX, an item purchasable with real currency that can be redeemed either for subscription time or traded for in-game currency.
Empires of Eve: A History of the Great Wars of Eve is a book by journalist Andrew Groen about the online game Eve Online. Groen wrote the book to explore the immersion in a relatively-niche game shared by its 50,000 players. Groen's book illustrates the in-universe aspect of the game.
World of Darkness, also known as World of Darkness Online, was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in development by CCP Games from 2006 until its cancellation in 2014. It was based on World of Darkness, a fictional universe that serves as the shared setting of several of White Wolf Publishing's tabletop role-playing games.
