Gwacheon is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It lies close to Seoul in the heart of the Seoul National Capital Area, and also lies just east of Anyang. Seoul Subway Line 4 passes through the city.
The Seoul Olympic Stadium, a.k.a “Jamsil Olympic Stadium", is a multi-purpose stadium in Seoul, South Korea. It is the main stadium built for the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 10th Asian Games in 1986. It is the centrepiece of the Seoul Sports Complex in the Songpa District, in the southeast of the city south of the Han River. It is the largest stadium in South Korea.

LetsRun Park Seoul, also known a Seoul Race Park or Seoul Racecourse Park is a 40,000 capacity Korean thoroughbred racetrack in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It is host to many of Korea's most valuable thoroughbred horse races including the Korean Derby and Grand Prix. LetsRun Park Seoul is located next to Seoul Racecourse Park Station on Line 4 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It is operated by the Korea Racing Authority (KRA).

It was the seventh edition of the Games, which are held every four years and run by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). For team events in the dressage, eventing, and show jumping disciplines, these Games were the first qualifying event for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

There were three equestrian disciplines: dressage, eventing and jumping. All three disciplines are further divided into individual and team contests for a total of six events.

Kim Seok is a South Korean equestrian and former actor. He began his career as a child actor in 1997, starring in films and television dramas such as When I Turned Nine (2004), Seoul 1945 (2006) and Princess Hours (2006). In 1999, Kim was encouraged by his father to take up horseback riding in order to boost his stamina, but his skill in the sport led him to put his entertainment activities on hold in 2009 and focus on being a member of the Korean national equestrian team. He competed in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.
