Erastus Shuumbwa (born 24 August 1974) is a Namibian businessman, farmer and politician. He has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of Namibia for the All People's Party since March 2020. He is the party's parliamentary chief whip.

Biography

Erastus Shuumbwa was born on 24 August 1974 in Ondukutu, South West Africa. He studied law at Triumphant College. [1] He is a businessman and a farmer. [1]

Shuumbwa joined the All People's Party. He was elected to the National Assembly in November 2019. [1] He took office as an MP on 20 March 2020 and serves as the party's chief whip. [2]

Omukwaniilwa Immanuel Kauluma Elifas was a chief of the Ondonga, a sub-tribe of Owambo people since 28 August 1975, in Namibia having succeeded his brother the late Chief Fillemon Elifas Shuumbwa who was gunned down the same year at Onamagongwa. The Ondonga tribal area is situated around Namutoni on the eastern edge of Etosha pan in northern Namibia. Kauluma was also the Chairperson of the Council of Traditional Leaders for many years. He was succeeded as King by the designate Omukwaniilwa of Ondonga, his great-grandson Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo.

Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo is the reigning chief of Ondonga kingdom, a sub-tribe of Owambo people since 2019 in Namibia. Nangolo is the nephew of late King Immanuel Kauluma Elifas who reigned from 1975 - 2019. The Ondonga tribal area is situated around Namutoni on the eastern edge of Etosha pan in northern Namibia. On 14 April, he was appointed the king of the Aandonga. His uncle Konisa Kalenga was also being crowned as king the same day. The succession dispute ended with Shuumbwa being recognised by Government in June 2019.

Shaun Nigel August is a South African politician and former prison warder who has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2019. He is a member of Good and the party's interim national organiser. He began his political career as a member of the Independent Democrats (ID). He was appointed the party's deputy national organiser in 2006. August joined the Democratic Alliance (DA) when the ID merged with the party and served as the DA's chief whip in the City of Cape Town council from 2014 to 2018.
