Eren Kurshan is an American computer scientist and inventor, specializing in AI systems, computer system design and optimization. [1] She was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors in recognition of the societal and economic impact of her 284 inventions. [2] [3] In 2024, Kurshan was awarded the New York Intellectual Property Association's Inventor of the Year Award for her inventions. [4] She was named an Association for Computing Machinery Distinguished Member in 2025 for "research and leadership contributions to AI/ML system design and optimization". [5] Kurshan received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Low Power Design Conference (ISLPED) in 2011 [6] and the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer Design in 2008. [7] She is also a Distinguished Speaker for the IEEE Systems Council and IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, and a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE Computer Society.[ citation needed ]
Kurshan holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, as well as a Master's in Computer Science and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. [8]
