Eric Elfman

Eric Elfman [1] is an American author with a specializing in science fiction, fantasy, UFOs, and paranormal events. He has written over 14 books for young adults and middle-grade readers, including the Accelerati Trilogy, [2] which was co-written with Neal Shusterman, Almanac of Alien Encounters [3] (Random House, 2001), Almanac of the Gross, Disgusting, and Totally Repulsive [4] (Random House, 1994, an ALA Recommended Book for Reluctant Readers [5] ), and Very Scary Almanac [6] (Random House, 1993).

Elfman has been on the faculty of the Big Sur Children's Writers Workshop, sponsored by the Henry Miller Memorial Library and directed by Andrea Brown. He has also presented writing advice at the Ventana Sierra Advanced Writing Workshop [7] in Carson City, Nevada, directed by author Ellen Hopkins.

As a private writing coach, Elfman has worked with the New York Times bestselling author Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky [8] ), the award-winning author Meg Medina ( Yaqui Delgado ), Barry Wolverton (Neversink [9] ), Stacey Lee (Under a Painted Sky, [10] 2015), and various other storytellers.

As a screenwriter, Elfman has also written for DreamWorks, Universal Studios, Walden Media, and Disney.

His books are typically set in an alternative history London with fantasy elements, and have received note for his satire, and use of magic to reflect themes of class struggle. The Bartimaeus sequence is the recipient of the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire and Mythopoeic Fantasy Awards. Stroud's works have also been featured on ALA Notable lists of books for children and young adults. In 2020, Netflix announced a TV series based on Lockwood & Co., with filming initiated in July 2021.

Charlie Nicholes Holmberg is an American fantasy writer best known for The Paper Magician series. Holmberg expanded the book into a series, the film rights for which were purchased by Disney in 2016. In addition to her other book series, Holmberg has published seven standalone novels.
