Eric Kielts (born 5 August 1960) is a former racing driver. Kielts won races in single seater series such as the Barber Saab Pro Series. Currently Kielts is active in the lubrication industry.
Kielts made his first national race appearance in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Kielts raced three times at the SCCA's most prestigious race. In 1983 Kielts raced a year old Van Diemen RF82 finishing 21st. The following year, in a Van Diemen RF84, Kielts finished 27th. Finally, in 1985, Kielts scored his best result. He placed his Swift DB1 in twelfth place. [1]
After three years of Formula Ford racing Kielts decided he would either step up to a higher series, or quit racing. The Barber Saab Pro Series was launched for the 1986 season. Failing to secure sponsorship Kielts, supported by his wife Debbie, decided to sell their house in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The family moved to a rental appartement in Oak Park, Michigan. [2] The sale provided the much needed capital to compete in the Barber Saab series. Kielts won races at Watkins Glen International and Lime Rock Park. Kielts was in the title race until the last round at Tamiami Park (Miami). He eventually ended up third in the championship standings.
Unable to secure funds to keep racing he ended his racing career.
Eric is the son of Ted Kielts and Anne Marie Kielts (née Coleman). [3] Eric is a graduate of the University of Dayton in the field of chemistry. During his racing career Eric worked at Argent Limited as a chemist. He later joined the Wallover Oil Company. At Wallover he worked his way up the management positions. After ten years as the vice president of laboratory services Kielts was appointed president and CEO in 2010. [4]

The Barber Dodge Pro Series was a professional open-wheel auto racing series from 1986 to 2003. It was one of the first professional spec series for open-wheel racecars in North America. The races were primarily on road and street courses in North America, although the schedule did sometimes include a few ovals.
The USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire is an American racing series using an American variation of the Formula Ford standard, "F2000", that resumed operation for the 2010 season. As of 2022, it is sanctioned by the United States Auto Club, and operated by Andersen Promotions. It is the second rung of the Road to Indy.
Formula Enterprises or Formula SCCA is a class of open wheel race car sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. A spec racing class, all chassis are produced by SCCA Enterprises in association with Van Diemen and include a sealed Mazda MZR powerplant. The chassis can also be fitted with closed-wheel bodywork and converted into a sportscar to race in C Sports Racer or the L3 class of IMSA Prototype Lites. For the 2012 season, the car was also accepted into the U.S. F2000 National Championship's National Class. According to the manufacturer's website, as of March 2010, 120 of the cars have been sold.
SCCA Pro Racing is the pro racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. SCCA Pro Racing was formed in 1963; the company is a fully owned subsidiary of SCCA.
The F1600 Championship Series was created by the SCCA in 2011. The series is organized by Formula Race Promotions, the same organization which organizes the F2000 Championship Series, and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing. It is a series whose champion is eligible for the Road to Indy Shootout provided the driver is of an eligible age, and has the necessary skills to operate such machine.

Ken Murillo is a former racing driver from Santa Rosa, California. Murillo won the 1987 Barber Saab Pro Series and the 1988 Formula Super Vee USA Robert Bosch/Valvoline Championship. Murillow currently co-owns Michelin Pilot Challenge team Murillo Racing.
Bruce Feldman is an American racing driver from San Ramon, California. He won the 1988 Barber Saab Pro Series championship. He also competed in the 1992 Indy Lights season.
Chris Simmons is a Chip Ganassi Racing engineer for their IndyCar Series teams.
Todd Snyder in Anchorage, Alaska, is a former racing driver and driving instructor. Snyder was placed second in the 1998 and 1999 Barber Dodge Pro Series seasons.
Matt Plumb is a racing driver who has previously competed in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and currently races in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Matt Plumb is also team manager of Rum Bum Racing, a sportscar and GT racing team.
Steve Rikert is a former racing driver who competed in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and the USF2000.
Tony Buffomante is an American racing driver. Buffomante won the Star Mazda championship in 1997. Currently Buffomante has been competing in the Trans-Am Series' TA2 class since 2013, and won the championship in 2016.
Bruno Bianchi is a Canadian former racing driver. Bianchi won races in Formula Ford 1600 and Formula Ford 2000. After his racing career Bianchi was an engineer at Bombardier Inc. and Bell Helicopter.
Ryan Norman is an American racing driver. Norman is a former motocross rider and is currently competing in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport and won the 2020 IMSA TCR Championship for the team. He formerly drove for Andretti Autosport in Indy Lights with multiple wins and podiums, and ran a race in the IndyCar Series in 2021 with Dale Coyne Racing.
Neil Verhagen is a racing driver from the United States of America. Verhagen is the youngest to win the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, having accomplished this in the Formula F category.
Luo Yufeng is a Chinese-American racing driver. He is the 2015 Formula Continental champion and 2018 F4 Chinese Championship vice-champion.
Melvin D. Shaw was an American racing driver. Shaw raced in various series and races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona. Shaw died in a crash at Brainerd International Raceway.
