Fox Football Fone-in was a football (soccer) telephone call-in program that was shown on Monday evenings on Fox Soccer Channel during the August to May Premier League season. However, as of August 2010, the show was cancelled. The show was hosted by Nick Webster and Eric Wynalda, and Temryss Lane reads off the e-mails. Wynalda was an incoming replacement for Steven Cohen, one of the original hosts. The show was geared towards an American audience, and focused primarily on the Premier League, although Major League Soccer, the English and U.S. national teams, as well as other club and country competitions were frequently covered such as the UEFA Champions League, European Championship and World Cup finals and qualifiers.
A tackle is a playing position in American football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle, sometimes specified as left tackle (LT) or right tackle (RT), is a position on the offensive line that flanks the two guards. Like other offensive linemen, their objective is to block during each offensive play: physically preventing defenders from tackling or disrupting the offensive ball carrier with the intention of advancing the football downfield.

Gordon Eric Peter Sweetzer is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a forward. In a short, injury-plagued career, he played in the Football League for Brentford, Cambridge United and in the North American Soccer League for Toronto Blizzard and Edmonton Drillers. Sweetzer won three caps for Canada and later became a manager and coach. As a player, he was described as "an aggressive, all-action, bustling striker, with little finesse about his game".
David Lane Johnson is an American football offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Eagles fourth overall in the 2013 NFL draft. He played college football at Kilgore College before transferring to Oklahoma.
The Quick Lane Bowl is a post-season college football bowl game certified by the NCAA that began play in the 2014 season. The Ford Motor Company served as title sponsor of the game for 10 years, through its auto shop brand Quick Lane. In June 2024, that sponsorship ended. Organizers are using Detroit Bowl naming while seeking a new title sponsor.

During the 1984–85 English football season, Brentford competed in the Football League Third Division. The season is best remembered for the club's first appearance in a Football League Trophy final, which was lost 3–1 to Wigan Athletic.
During the 1985–86 English football season, Brentford competed in the Football League Third Division. Inferior home form and a number of key player departures meant that the Bees could finish no higher than 10th position.
The 2023 Virginia Tech Hokies football team represented Virginia Tech as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hokies were led by Brent Pry in his second year as Virginia Tech's head coach. They played their home games at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia.
