Eric Damien Njuguna (born circa 2003) is a climate activist from Kenya. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Njuguna started their climate activism in 2017 after severe droughts in Nairobi impacted their school's water supply. [9] by organizing with the group Zero Hour and then Fridays for Future Kenya. [3] [4] [6] [9] [10] In August 2021, Njuguna co-authored an essay with Greta Thunberg, Adriana Calderón, and Farzana Faruk Jhumu that was published in The New York Times. [11] Their co-authored essay highlighted a 2021 UNICEF report that stated 2.2 billion children are at "extremely high-risk" of experiencing the consequences of climate change. [12] Later in 2021, Njuguna attended the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and represented Fridays for Future Kenya. [6] At COP26, Njuguna, alongside Vanessa Nakate and Elizabeth Wathuti, met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss climate change. [6]

Climate activist Greta Thunberg made a double crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in 2019 to attend climate conferences in New York City and, until it was moved, Santiago, Chile. She sailed from Plymouth, UK, to New York, United States aboard the racing yacht Malizia II, returning from Hampton, Virginia, to Lisbon on the catamaran La Vagabonde. Thunberg refuses to fly because of the carbon emissions of the airline industry and the trip was announced as carbon neutral. As a racing sailboat, the Malizia II has no toilet, fixed shower, cooking facilities or proper beds.

She is on the administration committee of the People's Climate Movement and a former member of Sunrise Movement and Extinction Rebellion. Hilda Flavia Nakabuye is a Ugandan climate and environmental rights activist who founded Uganda's Fridays for Future movement. She also advocates for greater gender equality and racial diversity in the climate change movement. One of her environmental concerns is saving Lake Victoria, which connects Uganda to neighboring countries. As part of her activism, Nakabuye visits schools and communities to empower more women to join the fight against climate change, stating that "the climate crisis has no borders". She also created Climate Striker Diaries, an online platform to encourage digital awareness about climate change.

Ridhima Pandey is an Indian environmental activist who advocates for action against climate change. She has been likened to Greta Thunberg. When she was nine years old, she filed a suit against the Indian government for not taking enough steps to combat climate change. She also was one of the complainants to the United Nations, along with several other young climate activists, against several nations' failure to take action against the climate crisis.

She is one of the co-signers of UNICEF's Children's climate risk index report, part of the delegation of Fridays For Future MAPA that attended COP26, and one of the activists targeting the British multinational bank Standard Chartered and the Mexican state-owned petroleum company Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).
