Eric J. Palmer (born 1960) is a former Iowa State Representative from the 75th District. [1] [2] A Democrat,he served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011.
During his last term in the Iowa House,Palmer served on the Education,Ethics,Government Oversight (Joint),and Natural Resources committees. He also served as vice chair of the Judiciary Committee and of the Justice Systems Appropriations Subcommittee and as a member of the Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (HAWK-I) Board.
Palmer ran for the Iowa House in 2004,losing to incumbent Republican Danny Carroll,the Speaker pro tempore. In 2006,Palmer defeated Carroll in a rematch and began his term in the House. He defeated Carroll again in 2008,but lost to Republican opponent Guy Vander Linden in 2010.

Daniel J. Rasmussen is the Iowa State Representative from the 23rd District since 2011. A Republican,he had previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Dawn E. Pettengill is an American retired politician from Iowa. She was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2005 to 2019,where she represented the 75th District. On April 30,2007,she switched to the Republican Party,having previously served in the House as a Democrat. In a letter to her constituents,Pettengill said she decided to switch parties due to disagreements with fiscal and labor policy,as well as the state Democratic Party's decision to take her off the incumbent protection list for the 2008 elections.

There were two sets of 2006 Iowa House of Representatives elections. The first,the general election,was held on November 7. The second,a special election for District 52,was held on December 12. The representatives-elect from both sets of elections were inaugurated on January 3,2007. The Iowa House,like the United States House of Representatives,is up for re-election in its entirety every two years. Prior to the elections,the Republicans were in the majority;following inauguration,the Democrats were in the majority –this marked the first time in 42 years that the Democrats had controlled both branches of the Iowa General Assembly and the Governor's Office at the same time.
James Robert Van Fossen is a former Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives,from the 84th district,first elected in 2002. Democrat Elesha Gayman defeated him in the Iowa House of Representatives elections,2006. Van Fossen retired from the Davenport,Iowa police department in 2000 with the rank of Captain. His son,Jamie Van Fossen,is also a former member of the Iowa House,from the 81st district.
