Barnstable County is a county located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. At the 2020 census,the population was 228,996. Its shire town is Barnstable. The county consists of Cape Cod and associated islands.
Julia May Carson was a member of the United States House of Representatives for Indiana's 7th congressional district from 1997 until her death in 2007. Carson was the first woman and first African American to represent Indianapolis in the U.S. Congress.
