Erik Wayne Rasmussen (born March 28, 1977) is an American former professional ice hockey player.

Early life

Rasmussen was born in Minneapolis. He won the Minnesota Mr. Hockey award in 1995 as the best high school player in Minnesota. He played for the University of Minnesota for two years.

Career

Rasmussen was drafted in the first round, seventh overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. [1] He then played for the Sabres, Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils. During the 2007–08 season he played for New Jersey's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lowell Devils, and then signed a contract for the 2008–09 season with Porin Ässät of the Finnish SM-liiga.

While with Porin Ässät organization, Rasmussen appeared in 31 regular season games recording one goal and eight assists. Ässät finished 12th in the league and competed in the play-out to decide which team goes into the relegation series against a Mestis, the second-tier league, club. Ässät lost the play-out and had to play against Vaasan Sport in the relegation series. In total Rasmussen played 13 games of play-outs and relegation putting up four goals and five assists for nine points. In the seventh game of the relegation series, Rasmussen scored Ässät's first goal, assisted on the third and Ässät got to keep their place in the SM-liiga. [2]

Petri Johannes Varis is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks as their 6th-round pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Hannes Ossian Hyvönen is a Finnish former professional ice hockey player. He played 42 games in the National Hockey League with the San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets between 2002 and 2003, though most of his career, which lasted from 1994 to 2009, was spent in European leagues. Internationally Hyvönen played for the Finnish national team at the 2008 and 2009 World Championships, winning a bronze in 2008. Hyvönen now works as a coach for Porin Ässät of the Liiga.

Kari Maurits Takko is a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the National Hockey League between 1986 and 1991, and in the Finnish SM-liiga between 1979 and 1985, and again from 1991 to 1997. Internationally Takko played for the Finnish national team at several tournaments, including the 1984 Winter Olympics. He currently works for Porin Ässät as an assistant to the sports manager. Takko is also the Director of European Scouting for the Dallas Stars.

Pata also known as Porin Ässät is an esports team based in Pori, Finland. The team was founded in 2017. The team was founded in 2017 when Ässät picked up players of a team called REAKT. PATA has not been active since 2022 when the eLiiga season ended in a 6th place.

Lenni Hämeenaho is a Finnish professional ice hockey right wing who currently plays for Porin Ässät of the Finnish SM-liiga. He was selected in the 2nd round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, 58th overall by the New Jersey Devils.

The 2012–13 Porin Ässät season was the club's 37th season in the SM-liiga and the 45th season at the top-level of ice hockey in Finland. Towards the end of the regular season, Ässät won 14 matches in a row and did not miss a single point during the last 16 regular season matches. Ässät finished fourth in the regular season, being only one point away from the 3rd placed JYP. The season eventually ended in Kanada-malja championship celebrations after Ässät beat Tappara Tampere in the finals. The championship was Ässät's third.
