Erin Rae (formerly a part of Erin Rae & the Meanwhiles) is an American folk pop musician from Nashville, Tennessee. [1]

According to Rolling Stone, Erin Rae "makes smooth-edged music for Sunday afternoons" and "her arrangements — anchored by pedal-steel guitar and the steady strum of an acoustic guitar — may be rooted in modern-day indie folk, but the songs themselves rustle up comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne". [2]

History

Erin Rae began her singer/songwriter career as Erin Rae and the Meanwhiles in 2012 with the release of an EP titled Crazy Talk. [3] In 2015, Erin Rae released her debut full-length album with The Meanwhiles titled Soon Enough. [2] [4] [5] [6] The album was recorded in only two days. [1]

In July 2015, Erin Rae and the Meanwhiles recorded a Daytrotter session at Big Light Studio in Nashville. [7]

Erin Rae's second full-length album, Putting On Airs, was released in June 2018. [8]

In 2021 she as a solo artist was inter alia part of the Newport Folk Festival in July. [9]

Erin Rae released her third full-length album, Lighten Up , in February 2022, [10] followed by a live album, Lighten Up & Try: Live & From The Heart, in August 2023. [11]

She was featured on Tyler Childers' album, Rustin’ in the Rain, released in September 2023. [12]

Out of Season is a studio album by vocalist Beth Gibbons and bassist Paul Webb. It was released on 28 October 2002 in the United Kingdom and on 7 October 2003 in the United States. Out of Season is largely a folk album with jazz leanings, with Gibbons and Webb drawing more directly on the influences of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, at which Portishead's work in trip hop only hinted. Out of Season also features contributions from Gibbons' fellow Portishead bandmate Adrian Utley and Webb's former bandmate Lee Harris. In 2016 John Kirkpatrick replaced Tams as main singer in Home Service, and features as such on their next album.

Brought up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Luce learned how to play viola and guitar from her mother, who conducted her own symphony orchestra.
