Career

Born in Chapeltown, Sheffield, [2] [3] Myers spent his early career with Northfleet, Crystal Palace and Hickleton Main Colliery. [1] [4] He joined Bradford City in April 1914, [2] and made 1 league appearance for the club, scoring 1 goal. [5] He left the club in May 1920 to join Southend United, [2] where he scored 2 goals in 23 league games. [3] He later played for Aberdare Athletic, Northampton Town, [6] Queens Park Rangers, Exeter City, Grantham, Hartlepools United, Gainsborough Trinity and King's Lynn. [1]

Ernest Holroyde Goldthorpe was an English footballer who played as a forward. He was born in Middleton, Leeds. During the First World War he served with the pay corps of the Coldstream Guards and while stationed in London he joined Tottenham Hotspur, before moving back north to Bradford City, where he played 19 games and scored six goals. He played two injury-hit seasons with Leeds United, appearing in the club's first ever game. A brief return to Bradford City, was followed by a move to Manchester United in 1922, making his debut at Old Trafford against Fulham in October 1922. He scored four goals against Notts County in 1923, and a total of 15 goals in 27 matches. In 1925, he was transferred to Rotherham United.

Bradford City Association Football Club—also known informally as Bradford City—is an English football club founded in Bradford in 1903 to introduce the sport to the West Riding of Yorkshire, which until then had been almost entirely inclined towards rugby league. Before they had even played their first game, City were elected to the Football League to replace Doncaster Rovers in Division Two, and took over the Valley Parade stadium, which has been their permanent home ground ever since.
