Esenburun (Kurdish : Hivanis) is a village in the Bitlis District of Bitlis Province in Turkey. [1] The village is unpopulated as of 2022. [2]

It was formerly populated by Kurds and burned by authorities in the 1990s during the Kurdish–Turkish conflict. [3]

The climate of Bitlis can be harsh, with long winters and heavy snowfalls. Summers are hot, and often humid. Since the local elections of March 2019, the Mayor of Bitlis is Nesrullah Tanğlay.
