The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language, literature and culture, works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955, it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh, Dhaka, within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Dard is a 2024 Bangladesh-Indian joint venture psychological romantic thriller film written, co-produced and directed by Anonno Mamun. Kamal Mohammad Kibria Lipu, Ashok Dhanuka, Himanshu Dhanuka and Karan Shah produced the film under the banners of Action Cut Entertainment, Kibria Films, Eskay Movies and One World Movies respectively. The film features Shakib Khan and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles. The film is marked Khan's 251th film.

Ishaque Ali Khan Panna was a Bangladeshi businessman and general secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League. He was a member of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Insurance Association. He was the founder chairman of Diamond Life Insurance Company Limited.
