Etheria Film Night (aka Etheria Film Festival) is an annual Los Angeles–based genre film festival for new short films by women directors. [1] Etheria Film Night was founded in 2014 by Heidi Honeycutt, Stacy Pippi Hammon, and Kayley Viteo, former Viscera Film Festival staff members. [2] The festival screens a curated lineup of horror, science fiction, thriller, fantasy, dark comedy, and action short films and sometimes a feature film.

Annual showcase

Inspiration Award

The Etheria Film Night Inspiration Award, presented at the annual premiere, honors notable women in genre film. Lexi Alexander received the award in 2014, [5] Jane Espenson received the award in 2015, [20] Jackie Kong received the award in 2016, [21] Stephanie Rothman received the award in 2017 (presented by Roger Corman), [22] Rachel Talalay received the award in 2018 (presented by John Waters). [23] Gale Anne Hurd received the award in 2019 (presented by Roger Corman). [24] In 2021, Angela Kang received the award (presented by Hurd). [25] The 2022 Etheria Inspiration Award was presented to previous Etheria filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero onstage at the live screening. [26] The 2023 Etheria Inspiration award was presented to Brinke Stevens onstage at the live screening by Joe Bob Briggs. [27]

Shudder is an American over-the-top subscription video on demand service featuring horror, thriller, and supernatural fiction titles, owned and operated by AMC Networks. The streaming service offers original films, TV series—such as Creepshow, based on the 1982 film same of the name—and documentary series. Shudder's library also features non-original programming, including well-known horror films, and annually airs a Halloween "Ghoul Log".

<i>Hell House LLC</i> 2015 American film

Hell House LLC is a 2015 American found-footage horror film written and directed by Stephen Cognetti and produced by Joe Bandelli. The film, shot as a documentary, follows a group of Halloween haunted house creators as they prepare for the 2009 opening of their popular haunted attraction, Hell House. Tragedy strikes on opening night when an unknown "malfunction" causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff. The film reveals the lead-up to the tragedy and what really went wrong that night, the details of which have remained a mystery to the public. The film was released on a number of video on-demand platforms, including Amazon Video, Shudder, YouTube, Vudu, and iTunes, on November 1, 2016.

The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs is an American variety streaming television series created by Joe Bob Briggs, Austin Jennings, and Matt Manjourides for Shudder.

V/H/S is an American horror anthology franchise that includes six found footage films, two spin-off films, and one miniseries. Created from an original story idea by Brad Miska, the plot centers around a number of disturbing VHS tapes that are discovered by innocent viewers and the possessive influence of the videos over those who see them. Realized by a collaboration of various filmmakers and different casts, the installments are mostly standalone in nature; though recurring elements indicate the same fictional villain as the source for all of its videos.

Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes is a 2021 German mystery horror film directed by Kevin Kopacka and starring Anna Platen, Jeff Wilbusch, Luisa Taraz and Frederik von Lüttichau. It pays homage to European Gothic Horror and psychedelic films of the 1960s and 1970s. It premiered at FrightFest 2021 in London.

<i>V/H/S/99</i> 2022 American film

V/H/S/99 is a 2022 American found footage horror anthology film, and the fifth installment in the V/H/S franchise. The film features segments from Johannes Roberts, Vanessa & Joseph Winter, Maggie Levin, Tyler MacIntyre and Flying Lotus. It premiered September 16, 2022 in the Midnight Madness category of the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. It was released as a Shudder Original Film on October 20, 2022. Upon its release, the film broke streaming records on Shudder and became the platform's most-viewed premiere, a title which was held by the earlier entry, V/H/S/94.

<i>V/H/S/85</i> 2023 film

V/H/S/85 is a 2023 found footage horror anthology film, and the sixth installment in the V/H/S franchise. The film features segments from David Bruckner, Scott Derrickson, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Natasha Kermani and Mike P. Nelson.
