Eurimages Audentia Award

The Eurimages Audentia Award is an annual film award, presented by Eurimages to honour films by emerging women filmmakers. The award is presented at a different international film festival each year, to a film screening within that year's festival program.

In doing so, it encourages co-operation between professionals across Europe. Eurimages is headquartered in Strasbourg, France in the Agora building of the Council of Europe. The current Chairperson is Catherine Trautmann.

The Magic Mountain is a 2015 Romanian animated drama film directed by Anca Damian. It tells the story of Adam Jacek Winkler, a Polish anti-communist who in the 1980s fought against the Soviet Union in the Soviet–Afghan War, alongside Ahmad Shah Massoud. The film was co-produced with French and Polish companies. It was made using a mix of animation techniques and Winkler's personal photographs, sketches and film footage. The English-language version of the film stars Jean-Marc Barr as the voice of Winkler.

<i>Donbass</i> (film) 2018 film

Donbass is a 2018 internationally co-produced black comedy war film directed by Sergei Loznitsa. It was selected as the opening film in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. At Cannes, Loznitsa won the Un Certain Regard award for Best Director, as well as the Silver Pyramid at the 40th Cairo International Film Festival. It was selected as the Ukrainian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. It was filmed in Kryvyi Rih, 300 km west of separatist-occupied Donetsk. At the 49th International Film Festival of India it received the Main Prize - Golden Peacock for Best Feature Film.

Fig Tree is a 2018 internationally co-produced drama film directed by Alamork Davidian. In July 2018, it was one of five films nominated for the Ophir Award for Best Picture. The film was screened at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where Davidian won the Eurimages Audentia Award for Best Female Director.

Aäläm-Wärqe Davidian, commonly credited as Alamork Davidian in English, is an Ethiopian-Israeli film director. Her directorial debut, Fig Tree, was an Ophir Award nominee for Best Picture in 2018.

<i>The Diary of Diana B.</i> 2019 film

The Diary of Diana B. is a 2019 biographical film directed by Dana Budisavljević. The film tells the story of the aid operation of humanitarian Diana Budisavljević for the rescue of more than 10,000 - mainly Orthodox Christian Serbs - children from concentration camps in the Independent State of Croatia during WWII. The film had its world premiere at the 2019 Pula Film Festival. It won four Golden Arenas, including the Big Golden Arena for Best Film.

A Chiara is a 2021 Italian-language drama film directed and written by Jonas Carpignano, the third film in his film trilogy set in a Calabrian town, following Mediterranea (2015) and A Ciambra (2017). The film stars Swamy Rotolo, Claudio Rotolo, Grecia Rotolo, and Carmela Fumo and had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on July 9, 2021, in the Directors' Fortnight section, to very positive reviews.
