The European Student Think Tank (abbreviated EST) is an international non-government organisation established in 2010 dedicated to involving young Europeans in the European policy-making process. It functions as an online journal of international affairs and annually publishes an academic journal, "The European Policy Review". [1]
The European Student Think Tank won the 2011 European Charlemagne Youth Prize, [2] awarded by the European Parliament, and has since then expanded to host a network of ambassadors in Council of Europe member states.
The European Student Think Tank currently hosts debates across EU institutions in which young people engage with policy-makers, such as debates in the European Parliament on gender equality and youth participation in European Politics in 2016. [3] Members of the European Parliament and representatives of the European Commission as well as academics participated. European Student Think Tank President Carlota Nunez Strutt was a panelist in the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Europe Together conference, together with European Parliament President Martin Schulz and vice-president of the European Commission Federica Mogherini. [4] At the European Youth Event 2021, EST hosted a crash course on the European Green Deal. [5]
The European Policy Review is the peer-reviewed journal for and by students, published by the European Student Think Tank. It contains papers on a wide range of topics related to EU policy and European affairs. The European Policy Review has four editions to date.
The Bruges Group is a think tank based in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1989, it advocates for a restructuring of Britain's relationship with the European Union and other European countries. Its members and staff campaign against the notion of an "ever-closer union" in Europe and, above all, against British involvement in a single European state. The group is often associated with the Conservative Party, including MPs such as Iain Duncan Smith, Daniel Hannan, John Redwood, and Norman Lamont. However, it is formally an independent all-party think tank, and some Labour MPs and peers have cited the publications or attended the meetings of the Bruges Group through the years, such as Frank Field, Gisela Stuart, Lord Stoddart of Swindon and Lord Shore of Stepney.

The European People's Party (EPP) is a European political party with Christian democratic, liberal-conservative, and conservative member parties. A transnational organisation, it is composed of other political parties. Founded by primarily Christian-democratic parties in 1976, it has since broadened its membership to include liberal-conservative parties and parties with other centre-right political perspectives. On 31 May 2022, the party elected as its President Manfred Weber, who was also EPP's Spitzenkandidat in 2019.

Martin Schulz is a German politician who was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Germany from 1994 to 2017 and a Member of the Bundestag (MdB) from 2017 to 2021. During his tenure he was Leader of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats from 2004 to 2012, President of the European Parliament from 2012 to 2017 and Leader of the Social Democratic Party from 2017 to 2018.

Klaus Welle is a German politician who served as Secretary General of the European Parliament between 15 March 2009 to 31 December 2022. He was previously Head of the Office of the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering MEP, from January 2007. He succeeded Harald Rømer, a Danish career civil servant, who had reached retirement age. Welle is also an advisor to the Yale University-based transatlantic think tank, European Horizons.

CIFE encompasses educational and research activities promoting European integration and governance, multilingualism and student mobility. CIFE educates European and international students as future Policy Officers in European institutions and international organisations, a professional title which is recognised by the French state.
Ramona Nicole Mănescu is a Romanian politician and lawyer. From 24 July 2019 to 4 November 2019, she served as minister of Foreign Affairs in the Romanian Government. She was a Member of the European Parliament serving 2007 to 2013 and 2014 to 2019 from the National Liberal Party, active within the European People's Party. As part of this group she is a member of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, vice-chair in the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries and a substitute member in the Committee on transport and tourism and in Delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula.
New Direction – The Foundation for European Reform is a political foundation at European level, think tank and publisher affiliated with the European Conservatives and Reformists Party (ECR). It was established in 2010, under the patronage of Baroness Thatcher. It is based in Brussels with satellite offices in London and Warsaw. New Direction is a free-market think tank that promotes European reform through the strengthening of accountability, transparency and democracy.
Terra Nova is a French independent think tank or "Progressive Foundation" considered close to the French Socialist Party, and later to the French President, Emmanuel Macron. It produces reports and analyses of current political issues and aims to contribute to public debate by formulating progressive policy solutions. Through its work it also seeks to contribute to the renewal of social democracy and social democratic ideas in France and across Europe.
The Young Initiative on Foreign Affairs and International Relations is a nonpartisan German think tank dedicated to promoting greater engagement of youth in international affairs. IFAIR was founded in 2010, during a summer school of the German National Academic Foundation and as of February 2018, had 190 members globally. Grouping activities in three lines of action ("Think.Lean.Act"), the think tank seeks to stimulate debates on topics of international politics, to support the professional development of its members, and to implement specific projects in the realm of international relations (IR). In the past, IFAIR has been pursuing its activities in collaboration with institutions such as the German Federal Foreign Office, the German Chancellery and the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. IFAIR's open think tank www.ifair.eu boasts more than 160 publications, including guest contributions from European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

The Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) is a European network of research institutes and think-tanks in the field of European affairs. Founded in 1974, it is an international nonprofit association under Belgian law with 44 member organisations in 37 different European countries, and an office in Brussels.
