The cornet is a brass instrument similar to the trumpet but distinguished from it by its conical bore, more compact shape, and mellower tone quality. The most common cornet is a transposing instrument in B♭, though there is also a soprano cornet in E♭ and a cornet in C. All are unrelated to the renaissance and early baroque cornett.
Carlos Santanaaudio (help·info) is a Mexican and American musician who first became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered a fusion of rock and Latin American jazz. The band's sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas not generally heard in rock music. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades. He experienced a resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. In 2015, Rolling Stone magazine listed Santana at number 20 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists. He has won 10 Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards.
Blood, Sweat & Tears is a jazz-rock Canadian-American music group. They are noted for their combination of brass and rock band instrumentation. The group recorded songs by rock/folk songwriters such as Laura Nyro, James Taylor, the Band and the Rolling Stones as well as Billie Holiday and Erik Satie. They also incorporated music from Thelonious Monk and Sergei Prokofiev into their arrangements.

Michael Shrieve is an American drummer, percussionist, and composer. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band Santana. He played on its albums from 1969 to 1974. Shrieve was one of the youngest musicians to perform at Woodstock in 1969, being aged 20. His drum solo during "Soul Sacrifice" in the Woodstock film has been described as "electrifying".

He is an independent solo artist distributed by Kobalt/ AWAL, Ludwig is a former member of the band Capital Cities. He recorded on their platinum debut album In a Tidal Wave of Mystery and toured with them from 2012 to 2015. He has also performed with, Foster the People, Portugal. The Man, Fitz and the Tantrums, RAC, St. Lucia, Cherub, HOLYCHILD and The Wailers. In 2018 he formed his own record label called Trumpet Records.
