Eustacio B. Orobia, Jr. was the second Administrator of the Intramuros Administration, an attached agency of the Department of Tourism mandated with the authority to restore and guide the development of Intramuros, Manila. He was Administrator from 1986 to 1989, and was succeeded by Jose Capistrano. He was also the Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts from 1992 to 1996, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation from 1986 to 1986, and Head of the Presidential Task Force under the then Ministry of Human Settlements in 1986, among others. The school's patron saint is St. John the Baptist. The Rizal Shrine in Intramuros is a museum dedicated to the lifework of José Rizal. It is located on Santa Clara Street, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. Fort Santiago served as barracks for Spanish artillery soldiers during Spain's colonization of the islands. The museum is located in the building where Rizal spent his final night and hid his famous poem Mi último adiós in an oil lamp later given to his sister, Trinidad. It was established on August 30, 1750 as the Beaterio y Casa de Segunda Enseñanza by Mother Paula de la Santissima Trinidad to educate the half Spanish half Filipino young women. It was originally an All Girls school until the early 2000 when they converted to co-ed. It acquired its present name on 1774 and is known for several other names including Colegio de Madre Paula and Beaterio y Casa de Enseñanza.

Jose "Junjun" Antiquisa Capistrano, Jr., was the former Administrator of the Intramuros Administration and the current President and CEO of Philippine Pharma Procurement Inc., a subsidiary of the Philippine International Trading Corporation under the Department of Trade and Industry. He succeeded Eustacio Orobia in 1986 as the 3rd Intramuros Administrator until 1990, and Bambi Harper in 2010 as the 8th Administrator until 2013.
Edda Villaluna Henson is a socialite and member of the Villaluna Family, said to be the Mining Royal Family in the Philippines. In 1990 she was appointed as the fourth Administrator of Intramuros by President Corazon Aquino, but was dismissed five years later on November 30, 1995 by President Fidel Ramos over corruption scandals, including anomalies in bidding for government projects.

Located in front of the entrance to Fort Santiago, it is one of three major plazas in Intramuros, the others being Plaza de Roma located beyond the fort's grounds, and the Plaza de Armas located inside the fort, to which it is often misconstrued for.
