Eva Alterman Blay (born 4 June 1937) is a Brazilian sociologist.
She is a pioneer of women’s rights in Brazil and is the founder of the Center for the Study of Women and Gender Rights at the University of São Paulo. She is active in politics as a member of the centrist Brazilian Social Democracy Party,and was the first woman to sit in the Brazilian Senate. She has Master's,Doctoral and Postdoctoral degrees in Sociology. Blay sits on the board of the Remember the Women Institute [1] In 1986,she was elected first alternate to Senator Fernando Henrique Cardoso,replacing him when the incumbent was successively Minister of Foreign Affairs (1992-1993) and Minister of Finance (1993-1994) in the Itamar Franco administration. Victorious in the 1994 election,the incumbent resigned to assume the President of Brazil,therefore making Blay senator for the state of São Paulo,completing the term that would end in January 1995. She never ran for elective office again.

Manoel Ferraz de Campos Salles was a Brazilian lawyer,coffee farmer,and politician who served as the fourth president of Brazil. He was born in the city of Campinas,São Paulo. She is a full professor in public health at Federal University of São Paulo. A member of the Workers' Party,and dedicated to feminism,she is favorable to the legalization of abortion in Brazil. Menicucci has a degree in Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1974),MA in Sociology from the Federal University of Paraíba (1983),Ph.D. in political science from the University of São Paulo (1990),post-doctorate in Health and Work of Women from University of Milan (1994/1995) and a teaching degree in Public Health from the School of Public Health,University of São Paulo (1996). She publishes research studies and articles on critical issues related to women in the fields of health,violence and labor. She is divorced and has two children.
Albertina de Oliveira Costa is a Brazilian sociologist,editor,theoretician and feminist activist. A member of the Carlos Chagas Foundation,she is one of the principal investigators of issues related to women's studies in Brazil. Costa graduated with a degree in social sciences from the University of São Paulo. Her theoretical themes are in the field of gender studies but from a feminist perspective closer to activism,defending the rights of women,public policies and human rights. She is a member of the National Council for the Rights of Women and is editor of the journal Cadernos de Pesquisa. She has also collaborated in Revista Estudos Feministas and in Cadernos Pagu while sitting on the executive committee of the International Journal of Human Rights.

The 2020 São Paulo municipal election took place in the city of São Paulo,Brazil,with the first round taking place on 15 November 2020 and the second round taking place on 29 November 2020. Voters voted to elect the Mayor,the Vice Mayor and 55 city councillors for the administration of the city. The result was a 2nd round victory for incumbent Mayor Bruno Covas of the Brazilian Social Democratic Party (PSDB),winning 3,169,121 votes and a share of 59,38% of the popular vote,defeating political activist Guilherme Boulos of the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL),who took 2,168,109 votes and a share of 40.62% of the popular vote.
Marie Rennotte was a Belgian-born Brazilian physician,teacher,and women's rights activist. She was active in the fight for women's rights. After earning her teaching credentials in Belgium and France,Rennotte taught for three years in Germany before moving to Brazil as a governess. Giving private lessons and teaching at a girls' school,she lived in Rio de Janeiro from 1878 to 1882. Hired to teach in the State of São Paulo,she moved to Piracicaba where from 1882 to 1889 she taught science,developed the curriculum,and enhanced the reputation of the Colégio Piracicabano. The co-educational school was an innovative institution offering equal education to girls and boys.

Gubernatorial elections were held in Brazil on 2 October 2022 as part of the nationwide general elections to elect tickets with state governors and their vice governors. A second round was held on 30 October for states where no candidate was able to secure more than half of the votes in the first round.
General elections will be held in Brazil on 4 October 2026 to elect the president,vice president,members of the National Congress,the governors,vice governors,and legislative assemblies of all federative units,and the district council of Fernando de Noronha. If no candidate for president or governor receives a majority of the valid votes in the first round,a runoff election is held on 25 October.
