The Pan-African Parliament (PAP), also known as the African Parliament, is the legislative body of the African Union and held its inaugural session in March 2004. The PAP exercises oversight, and has advisory and consultative powers, lasting for the first five years. Initially the seat of the Pan-African Parliament was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia but it was later moved to Midrand, South Africa.

The African Party of Independence of Cape Verde is a former socialist party and currently a social-democratic political party in Cape Verde. Its members are nicknamed "os tambarinas" in Portuguese, and they identify themselves with the color yellow.

In the early to mid 2010s, she returned to Cape Verde. From September 2014 to June 22, 2016, she was Minister of Rural Development during the 6th José Maria Neves Cabinet.

The 6th and recent José Maria Neves government lasted from 22 September 2014 to 22 April 2016.
