Evol Intent is a hardstep drum and bass group formed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. in 2000. The group is composed of The Enemy (Ashley Jones), Knick (Nick Weiller), and Gigantor (Mike Diasio). [1]
The trio has released several singles on their own label Evol Intent Recordings as well as Dieselboy's Human Imprint and Barcode Recordings, and performed as headliners for several Therapy Sessions events. [2] They are also known for their contributions with Lifted Music Group. [3]
In 2005, Evol Intent provided a continuous mix for the second CD of Dieselboy's compilation The Human Resource . [4]
In 2006, Evol Intent were selected by Submerged to be part of a groundbreaking drum 'n' bass-jazz fusion project he was working on with Grammy Award-winning jazz bassist, record producer and fusion pioneer Bill Laswell. Evol Intent provided the blueprint for a track over which NEA Jazz Masters saxophonist Dave Liebman improvised, resulting in the finished track "Pattern Engine" which was released on the Method of Defiance album "Inamorata." The album was re-released in 2008. [5]
Evol Intent released their debut artist album Era of Diversion in 2008, revealing their versatility as producers with tracks ranging from various subgenres of drum and bass to punk rock to IDM. [6]
Ashley Jones also produces disco house music under the alias Treasure Fingers, Michael Diasio produces Electro House under the alias Computer Club, while Nick Weiller currently produces moombahton, trap, and dubstep under the moniker Bro Safari, and co-produced under the moniker of Ludachrist with Jake Stanczak aka Kill the Noise.
William Otis Laswell is an American bass guitarist, record producer, and record label owner. He has been involved in thousands of recordings with many collaborators from all over the world. His music draws from funk, world music, jazz, dub, and ambient styles.
Michael Robert Paradinas, better known by his stage name μ-Ziq, is an English electronic musician from Wimbledon, London. He was associated with the electronic style intelligent dance music (IDM) during the 1990s, and recorded on Rephlex Records and Reflective Records. His critically acclaimed 1997 album, Lunatic Harness, helped define the drill 'n' bass subgenre and was also his most successful release, selling over 100,000 copies. Paradinas founded the record label Planet Mu, begun in 1995, where he has championed genres such as juke, IDM and footwork.

Zinc first became known for 1995's "Super Sharp Shooter", a hip hop/jungle fusion, notably one of the pioneering jump-up anthems of its time. Human Imprint Recordings is an American drum and bass record label founded by Damian Higgins in New York City in 2002. Human began as a subsidiary of System Recordings and is mostly known for high energy releases in subgenres including techstep, hardstep and darkstep. In July 2009, Human Imprint parted ways amicably with System Recordings, and Dieselboy created the SubHuman : Human Imprint for dubstep and electro releases.
