The Ariel Award is an award that recognizes the best of Mexican cinema. Given annually, since 1946, by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), the award recognizes artistical and technical excellence in the Mexican film industry. The purpose of the Ariel recognition is to stimulate and increase the excellence of Mexican cinema, favor the growth of the industry, and promote the meeting and strengthening of the national film community. It is regarded as the most prestigious award in the Mexican film industry and considered Mexico's equivalent to the Oscars of the United States.

Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre (BARS) is an international film festival devoted to the genres of science fiction, horror and fantasy. It began in 2000 with a focus on independent films in those genres, and since 2004 in the form of a competitive festival, Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre is well attended with over 200 films shown and 12.000 public and industry admissions each year. BARS is declared of national interest by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, sponsored by the Film Museum of the City of Buenos Aires and declared of cultural interest by the legislature of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires.
The Ibero-American Festival of Short films ABC (FIBABC) (Spanish: Festival Iberoamericano de Cortometrajes ABC (FIBABC)) has its origins in the 2009 when the journalists and film makers, helmed by Pedro Touceda Fernandez and supported by the Spanish ABC with the Community of Madrid and Spanish Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences (AACCE) set up an international cinematographic festival of short films. The FIBABC takes place every year between 5 September – 25 November.
Desire Street is a 2011 comedy-drama film written and directed by Roberto F. Canuto and Xu Xiaoxi. Rodrigo Sorogoyen del Amo is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. His solo directorial debut Stockholm earned him a nomination for the Goya Award for Best New Director in 2014. For his short film Mother, Sorogoyen won the Goya Award for Best Fictional Short Film in 2018 and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 91st Academy Awards. In 2019, Sorogoyen won the Goya Awards for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for The Realm, a feat he repeated in 2023 with The Beasts, which won a total of 9 awards at the 37th Goya Awards, including Best Film. The Beasts also won him the César Award for Best Foreign Film. He often works in tandem with Isabel Peña.
They Will All Die in Space is a 2015 English-language Spanish short science-fiction horror film written, directed and produced by Javier Chillon, about a starship technician who is awoken from cryo-sleep and is told that the vessel is adrift and lost in the cosmos, and that he is needed to help repair the communications system to call for help, but quickly realises that something has gone horrifyingly wrong. Chillon's third short film was shown at well over 300 film festivals between 2015 and the end of 2019, and has won approximately sixty awards and honours, including Best Short Film from the 2015 Sitges Film Festival, the most important fantastic film festival in Spain.

Caracas Ibero-American Film Festival is a Venezuelan film festival. It was initially created in 2003 with the purpose of promoting Ibero-American cinema, with emphasis on first movies. Subsequently, in 2021 it restarted its activities again.
Nata Moreno is a Spanish director, producer, actress, and playwright whose debut feature film, Ara Malikian: una vida entre las cuerdas, won the Goya Award, the José María Forqué Cinematographic Award for Best Documentary Feature, and the Silver Biznaga Mujeres en Escena at the Málaga Film Festival.
