Evren Ozdemir (born November 10, 1977 in Istanbul, Turkey) also known by his stage name EVREN, [1] is a Canadian rapper, producer, and songwriter. Writing music since the early age of 13, [2] Evren began to capture the interest of various industry professionals, leading to his involvement in writing material for hit television series including Degrassi: The Next Generation , [3] Instant Star , [4] Billable Hours , and The Best Years . As well as licensing material for TV shows, Evren began composing songs for national advertising campaigns including Toyota, Telus, and Rogers. In 2002 Evren won the ISC People's Voice Online Voting Award [5] for co-writing the Degrassi: The Next Generation theme song, "Whatever It Takes". He has also worked on spots for Artists Against Racism , [6] as well as voice work for Kelloggs, Nike, and McDonald's, among others.

Despite his involvement in the TV and advertising world, Evren's primary focus drew him towards working on longer format projects for various artists and singers, including his own records, Conflict of Interest (2002), Unknown MC (2004), I Think Not (2008) and his latest up and coming release, A Little Bit of Love (2010).

After years of working on both independent productions, as well as higher profile campaigns, Evren’s work as a songwriter came to fruition when he wrote the hit song "We Could Be The Same" for Turkish mega band, maNga, which went on to place 2nd in the international European song contest Eurovision in 2010.

Skye Alexandra Sweetnam is a Canadian singer-songwriter, actress, and music video director. She first entered the music industry in 2003 with the release of her debut single "Billy S." Jakalope is a Canadian Indie pop/rock group. They are named for the fictional animal of the same name, although the animal's name is more commonly spelled jackalope. The eighth season of Degrassi: The Next Generation premiered in Canada on 5 October 2008, concluded on 30 August 2009, and consists of twenty-two episodes. Degrassi: The Next Generation is a Canadian serial teen drama television series. Although only one school year passed in the story timeline since season six, season eight is set in the fall semester of the year in which it aired. Writers have been able to use a semi-floating timeline, so that the issues depicted are modern for their viewers. This season depicts the lives of a group of high school freshmen, juniors, seniors, and graduates as they deal with some of the challenges and issues young adults face such as sex, sexism, sexual identity, financial difficulties, drug use, mental disorders, cyberbullying, child molestation, stress, hostage situations, racism, and psychological abuse. Thirteen actors are added to the ensemble cast, while fourteen cast members have either left the series or been dropped from the main cast to recurring roles. The season focuses heavily on the new generation of students at Degrassi Community School, although it included storylines about those who have graduated and gone on to university.

Turkey participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "We Could Be the Same" written by Evren Ozdemir, Fiona Movery Akıncı and maNga. The song was performed by maNga. The entry was selected through an internal selection organised by Turkish broadcaster Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT).

Paradise City: Degrassi Goes Hollywood is a 2009 Canadian film adaptation of the popular, long-running teenage drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. The movie premiered in the United States on The N on 14 August 2009, and in Canada on CTV on 30 August 2009. It was directed by veteran Degrassi actor-director, Stefan Brogren. Degrassi Goes Hollywood is the first feature-length movie of the Next Generation cast, and the second feature-length film in the Degrassi franchise, the first being 1992's School's Out in which Brogren co-starred. Degrassi Goes Hollywood is the first in-continuity Degrassi production recorded and/or set principally outside of Canada. For syndication purposes, the film has been shown as a four-part episode titled "Paradise City".
