Biography

Eytan Schwartz was born in New York City and emigrated to Israel with his family when he was 7. From a young age, Eytan showed an interest in the performing arts, and participated in various plays. He was also a member of a children's choir and performed with the Israeli Opera. Eytan's interest in the arts continued throughout his teens; he attended the Thelma Yellin High School for the performing arts as a drama major and played the lead role in the Israeli national production of Neil Simon's "Lost in Yonkers."

Israel country in the Middle East

Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a country in Western Asia, located on the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Red Sea. It has land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. The country contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. Israel's economic and technological center is Tel Aviv, while its seat of government and proclaimed capital is Jerusalem, although the state's sovereignty over Jerusalem has only partial recognition.

Neil Simon American playwright, writer, academic

Marvin Neil Simon was an American playwright, screenwriter and author. He wrote more than 30 plays and nearly the same number of movie screenplays, mostly adaptations of his plays. He received more combined Oscar and Tony nominations than any other writer.

After graduating high school, Eytan's interest in entertainment took another turn as he joined the Israeli Army and served as an entertainment correspondent for the Military Radio Station, Galei Zahal.

After completing four years of service, Eytan traveled to Paris and joined a local theatre group. Afterwards, Schwartz traveled to New York City and graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a B.A in anthropology. He also acted in several theatrical productions.

Entertainment years

Upon returning to Israel, Eytan joined The Israeli Children's Television Network and served as editor and reporter on a daily news show for children. He then became an entertainment reporter on a daily entertainment news show on Israeli cable television.

In September 2004 Eytan joined "The Ambassador," a ground-breaking reality show that focused on creating better PR for Israel. During the following 4 months, Eytan competed with 13 other men and women on the right to represent Israel abroad with an NYC-based advocacy group, Israel at Heart. Finally, in a show aired to unprecedented ratings on February 20, 2005, Eytan won the contest, and began working for "Israel at Heart" in April 2005.

In March 2005, American journalist David Kaufman published an article about Schwartz in New York magazine, in which he referred to Schwartz as the Bill Rancic of Israel. [1]

Schwartz was the spokesperson for C.A.R.D., the Committee for Advancement of Refugees from Darfur and a project manager for Tel Aviv's Centennial celebrations.

Israeli Opera

The Israeli Opera, formerly known as the New Israeli Opera, is the principal opera company of Israel. It was founded in 1985 after lack of Israeli government funding led to the demise of the Israel National Opera. Since 1994 the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center has been its main performance venue. The company also founded the Israeli Opera Festival which has performed large-scale outdoor productions, originally at Caesarea, and from 2010 in Masada.

Amnon David Ar is an Israeli painter. He studied at the Arts and Crafts Municipal High School of Tel Aviv until the age of eighteen. After completing his compulsory military service, he studied anatomy with Oswald Adler. He then spent one year at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, before leaving, because he felt that both the training and the curriculum didn’t provide the skills and knowledge he was looking for. For this reason, Ar decided to organize his own studies, and spent a further year learning painting and drawing with Abraham Bykov. By studying with older artists, Ar has trained himself in a traditional way, and can, at least in part, be considered an autodidact. During his studies, Ar worked as a chief illustrator and caricaturist at Maariv (newspaper) and also at Yedioth Tikshoret. Today, Ar also teaches painting and drawing, with the express intention of passing on to the next generation of artists, his experience, and with it his understanding of the artistic skills of the past. In 2014 Ar moved to Berlin where he has his studio and teaches.
