FC Stahl Linz is an Austrian football club, based in Linz, Upper Austria. They currently play in 2. Klasse Mitte, the eighth tier of Austrian football.
It was founded on 30 June 1946 as SV Eisen und Stahl 1946 Linz, a factory squad of the public VÖEST steel company (present-day Voestalpine). In 1949, the team was renamed SK VÖEST Linz.
In 1969, SK VÖEST won the championship of the Regional League Central and was promoted to the Nationalliga, the predecessor of the Bundesliga. In the summer of 1972, the club colors were changed from black and white to blue and white to distinguish themselves from city rivals LASK. The club reached its peak in the 1973–74 season, when they became Austrian champion. Its decline began in 1988, when SK VOEST (without umlaut since 1978) was relegated to the First League (II).
While the club managed re-entry into the Bundesliga in 1991, the steel company withdrew funds and the team was again renamed, as FC Stahl Linz in 1991 and FC Linz in 1993. In 1997, due to financial difficulties, the club finally had to dissolve, by merger with its long-time rival LASK.
In the same year, FC Blau-Weiß Linz was founded by former FC Linz fans, which took over the traditions of the disbanded club, but is not the official successor club of FC Linz. Blau Weiß Linz was promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga 26 years after its foundation, in 2023. They will play in the highest Austrian football league for the first time in the 2023–24 season.
Since 2013, a new FC Stahl Linz has been formed from the SK VÖEST company football section. This club has been playing as an independent club in the lower Upper Austrian amateur leagues since the 2014–15 season and, according to the Austrian Football Bundesliga, is the official successor club to FC Linz, which was dissolved in 1997. FC Stahl Linz currently (as of before the 2023–24 season) plays in the 2. Klasse Mitte (8th division in Austria and 5th division in Upper Austria).

The Austrian Football Bundesliga, also known as Admiral Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Austrian football league system. The competition decides the Austrian national football champions, as well the country's entrants for the various European cups run by UEFA. Since Austria stayed in sixteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2015–16 season, the league gained its first spot for the UEFA Champions League for the 2016–17 season.
Klaus Lindenberger is an Austrian former football player and coach. A goalkeeper, he played for LASK, FC Swarovski Tirol and FC Stahl Linz. As a coach he managed Austrian Bundesliga side LASK.
SK Vorwärts Steyr is an Austrian association football club based in Steyr. It was founded in 1919. They play at the Vorwärts Stadium. Currently the club has about 500 members. Is one of the oldest football clubs in Upper Austria. In 1999 the club went bankrupt and reformed in lower leagues later in 2001. In 2011 Vorwärts was promoted to the Regional League (Middle) which is part of the third division of Austrian league football. In 2018 they were promoted to the Austrian Second League.

FC Juniors OÖ is an Austrian association football club, from Pasching, Upper Austria. It was newly founded after the move of ASKÖ Pasching, who last appeared as FC Superfund, to Carinthia and the associated renaming in SK Austria Kärnten in 2007 as FC Superfund Pasching. The greatest success of the club is winning the ÖFB-Cup as the first third division in the history of the competition in the 2012–13 season and the associated qualification for the play-offs of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, in which the club was however defeated by Estoril Praia.

The 2011–12 Austrian Football First League was the 38th season of the Austrian second-level football league. It began on 10 June 2011 and ended on 18 May 2012 after the 36th and final round. The Carinthian cooperative associations Wolfsberger AC and SK St. Andrä won the championship. WAC, which ended its cooperative with SK St. Andrä after the 2011–12 season, moved up to the Bundesliga for the first time. The last place team of TSV Hartberg had to move down to the Austrian Regional League Central. The second-to-last place team had to play two relegation matches against Grazer AK, the champion of the Central Regional League.

KSV Ankerbrot Montelaa is an Austrian association football club from the Favoriten district in Vienna, founded in 1936. The women's team, now defunct, were unexpectedly Austrian champions in 1975.
