He is the brother of multiple Grand Slam winner Arantxa, with whom he teamed up to win the 1990 Hopman Cup. Sanchez since retiring captained his nation to Davis Cup success in 2008. In 2012, he was tournament director for two wheelchair tennis events.

Wang Hao (table tennis, born 1983) Chinese table tennis player

Wang Hao is a retired Chinese table tennis player. He became the World Champion in Men's Singles in Yokohama, Japan in May 2009, defeating three-time World Champion Wang Liqin 4–0. His other notable accomplishments include being a three-time World Cup Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2010, a singles silver medalist at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics. In January 2010, he was replaced by Ma Long as the #1 rank on the official ITTF world rankings. He was previously ranked #1 on the official ITTF world rankings for 27 consecutive months, from October 2007 to December 2009. In April 2011, he was again the top ranked male player in the world. He is known to execute the Reverse Penhold Backhand (RPB) with exceptional skill.

Andre Agassi won in the final, 1–6, 2–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4, against former world No. 4 Andriy Medvedev to capture the Men's Singles tennis title at the 1999 French Open. With this win, Agassi became the second man, after Rod Laver, to complete a career Grand Slam in the Open Era. He also achieved a career Super Slam, the only men's singles player to do so. Carlos Moyá was the defending champion, but lost in the fourth round to Agassi.

BWF World Championships international badminton competitions

The BWF World Championships is a badminton tournament sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament offers the most ranking points, together with Summer Olympics badminton tournaments. The winners will be crowned as the "World Champions" and awarded gold medals. However, it does not offer any prize money.
