The race was scheduled to start at 11:00 CET.
The start was lowered 74 meters (243 ft) to 3,246 m (10,650 ft), shortening the course by 200 m (220 yd). The reduced course had a vertical drop of 516 m (1,693 ft) and a length of 1.640 km (1.02 mi).
Giant slalom (GS) is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding competitive discipline. It involves racing between sets of poles ("gates") spaced at a greater distance from each other than in slalom but less than in Super-G.
