FK Gänclärbirliyi Sumqayit (Azerbaijani : FK Gənclərbirliyi Sumqayıt) was an Azerbaijani football club based in Sumqayit. They were founded in 2003 and won the Azerbaijan First Division title the same year, gaining promotion to the Azerbaijan Premier League. They spent four seasons in the top flight, finishing 12th, 11th, 12th and final 13th in their final season. The club was dissolved in July 2008. [1]

Azerbaijani language Turkic language

Sumqayit City & Municipality in Azerbaijan

Sumqayit is the third-largest city in Azerbaijan, located near the Caspian Sea, about 31 kilometres away from the capital, Baku. The city has a population of around 298,000, making it the third-largest city in Azerbaijan after the capital Baku and Ganja. The city has a territory of 83 square kilometres (32 sq mi). It was founded on November 22, 1949. Two settlements are within the city administration: Jorat and Haji Zeynalabdin, a settlement named after oil businessman and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. It is home to Sumqayit State University.

Azerbaijan Premier League 2007–08 was the fifteenth season of top-tier football in Azerbaijan. The season started with 14 teams, but ended with 13 after FK Gäncä were excluded. FK Baku were the defending champions with the season began on 5 August 2006 and ended on 23 May 2007. At the end of the season the league was dissolved and replaced by the Azerbaijan Premier League.

FK Mughan Salyan was an Azerbaijani football club, based in Salyan. The club reached the Azerbaijan Premier League for the first time in 2008–2009. The club was first promoted after FK Masallı withdrew for the 2008/09 season. On 31 October 2008, FK NBC Salyan changed its name to FK Mughan.

Sumgayit FK association football club

Sumgayit FK is an Azerbaijani football club based in Sumgayit that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League. Sumgayit is the only team in the 2017-18 season that consists only from Azerbaijani players.

The Gabala FC 2007-08 season was Gabala FC's second Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their second season under manager Ramiz Mammadov. They finished the season in 6th place, whilst they also took part in the 2007–08 Azerbaijan Cup, which they were knocked out of in the Semifinals by Khazar Lankaran.

The Neftchi Baku 2007–08 season was Neftchi Baku's sixteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They started the season under the management of Gurban Gurbanov who was replaced by Vlastimil Petržela after the UEFA Cup qualifiers at the start of September. Petržela was replaced by Anatoliy Demyanenko on 5 January 2008. They finished 3rd in the league and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the semifinal stage by Inter Baku. Neftchi also took part in the UEFA Cup, being eliminated at the First qualifying round by SV Ried of Austria.
