Fabio Coala is a Brazilian comics artist. After five years of working as firefighter, he created the website Mentirinhas ("Little Lies") in which he publishes, starting in 2010, webcomics with different characters. One of the main characters is "O Monstro" ("The Monster"), a toy monster that helps children with problems by becoming a real monster for them. The first Monster's printed graphic novel was released in 2013 after a successful crowdfunding campaign and, in the following year, the book won the Troféu HQ Mix (most important Brazilian comic related award) in the category "Best Independent Publication". A Coala's comic strip called "Perfeição" ("Perfection") was also adapted in 2014 as a short animated movie by Jacob Frey and Markus Kranzler. Combo Rangers is a series of webcomics created in 1998 by Japanese-Brazilian author Fábio Yabu. It is based on Japanese manga and the Super Sentai series. It started off as a parody, then developed more serious storylines that still included comedy. It features five main rangers as well as an extra white one. They are led by O Poderoso Combo, and fight against several forms of evil. Combo Rangers has won the HQ Mix Award three times.

Monica and Friends: Bonds is a 2019 Brazilian family adventure film produced by Estúdios Mauricio de Sousa, directed by Daniel Rezende, with screenplay written by Thiago Dottori, and starring Giulia Benite, Kevin Vechiatto, Laura Rauseo and Gabriel Moreira. The film was based on the eponymous graphic novel by Vitor and Lu Cafaggi and the series of homonymous comic books created by Mauricio de Sousa. The movie was first released in US during the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, in November 16, 2019.
Sidney Gusman is a Brazilian journalist and editor. Gusman graduated in journalism at the Methodist University of São Paulo and started writing professionally about comics in 1990, with articles published in newspapers such as Folha de S.Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo, among others, as well as magazines such as Imprensa, Superinteressante, Duas Rodas etc. Between 2003 and 2006 he was editor of the Brazilian version of Wizard magazine. In 2006, he became responsible for the Editorial Planning area of Mauricio de Sousa Produções, where, among several other projects, he was the creator of the Graphic MSP series, which since 2012 has published several graphic novels with reinterpretations of the classic characters created by Mauricio de Sousa by several Brazilian artists. He is also editor-in-chief of Universo HQ, the most important news portal about comics in Brazil. Gusman won the Troféu HQ Mix as best specialized journalist seven times. He also won the Troféu Jayme Cortez twice, in 2004 and 2014.
