Fairwood Park Golf Club is a golf club based on the Gower Peninsula, Wales. [1] It is the only 'Championship' status golf course on the Gower Peninsula, having twice hosted the Welsh PGA Championships. [2]
The clubhouse was previously a secret RAF Hospital during World War II.

Gowerton's original name was Ffosfelin. The village falls within the Gowerton electoral ward of the City and County of Swansea Council, which elects one councillor. The community had a population of 5,212. and the built-up area with Waunarlwydd 8,183.

Machynys, or Machynys Peninsula is a coastal area just to the south of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. In the nineteenth century an industrial community lived here working at the brickworks and tinplate works that occupied the site. When the industrial activity ceased in the mid-twentieth century, the buildings were demolished and the site lay derelict. It has now been redeveloped as a golf course as part of the Llanelli Waterside regeneration plan.

This group comprise a belt of land lying across the south western edge of the coalfield deposits in Swansea which were left in an unenclosed state when adjacent field systems were laid out.
Golf is a popular sport in Wales. Gustavus Kirkham Faulkner was an English professional golfer, best known as the father of Max Faulkner, the winner of the 1951 Open Championship. He won the Welsh Professional Championship in 1922 and was tied for 12th in the 1931 Open Championship.
