Faisal Malik (born 1980) is an Indian actor, best known for his role of Prahladcha (or chacha) "Prahlad" Pandey in Amazon Prime Video's Panchayat, [1] Fraud Saiyaan , Black Widows and Anurgag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2 . Also in Ariyippu [2] directed by Mahesh Narayanan, this will be his Malayalam debut.

Early life

Faisal Malik hails from Prayagraj and left the city to become an actor in Bollywood. He has worked as an assistant director, promo producer, reality show producer, and line producer. [3]

Career

While Malik had a brief stint acting in the 2012 film Gangs of Wasseypur, he gained fame after his role as Prahlad in the web-series Panchayat. [4]

He has co-produced web-series such as ‘Smoke’, ‘Revolver Rani’ and ‘Main aur Charles’. [5]

Ariyippu is a 2022 Indian drama film written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film is produced by Shebin Backer, under the banner of Shebin Backer Productions, Kunchacko Boban under the banner of Kunchacko Boban Productions and Mahesh Narayanan himself under the Moving Narratives banner. It features Kunchacko Boban, Divya Prabha, Danish Husain, Loveleen Mishra, and Faizal Malik in pivotal roles. The film premiered in the Concorso internazionale of the 75th Locarno Film Festival on 4 August 2022, where it was nominated for Golden Leopard. The film had a worldwide release on Netflix on 16 December 2022.
