Falcons are a women's franchise cricket team that compete in the FairBreak Invitational T20. The team has no geographical base. The team was founded in 2022. They are currently being captained by Suzie Bates and coached by Joanne Broadbent. The rights and sponsorship of the franchise is currently acquired by K-Man Ventures. [1]
Falcons were formed in April 2022 to compete in the inaugural edition of the FairBreak Invitational T20, [2] [3] a multi-national women's Twenty20 cricket tournament, with Saba Nasim as the team manager. [4] This was the first time that the team participated in any cricket competition at professional level. [5] In May 2022, the all the tournament matches including the matches played by Falcons were sanctioned by the ICC. [6] The team is made up of some of the best women players as well as emerging players from different countries of the world. [7] [8]
Falcons were captained by New Zealand cricketer Suzie Bates, [9] and coached by Joanne Broadbent in the 2022 edition. [10] They played their first ever WT20 match on 4 May 2022 against Warriors. [11] They had a good start to their campaign by winning the opening match by 8 wickets, [12] with Chamari Athapaththu hitting a century. [13] They finished fourth in the league stage, winning two out of five matches. [14] Although they lost all of their last three matches, they gained enough points to qualify for the knockout stage. [15] They became the first team to qualify for the final by defeating Spirit by 25 runs. [16] However, they finished as the runners-up of the tournament, losing the final match against Tornadoes by 8 wickets. [17] Chamari Athapaththu was the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 313 runs. [18]
In March 2023, K-Man Ventures bought the rights to the franchise and became the sponsor of the team ahead of the 2023 season. [19] Falcons took part in the 2023 season again under the leadership of Suzie Bates, with Joanne Broadbent remaining as the coach. [20] They won three out of their five league matches, and advanced to the knockout stage by beating Falcons by 9 wickets in the last league match. [21] Falcons won the semi-final match against Barmy Army by 6 wickets and thus qualified for the final of the tournament. [22] However, they again became the runners-up by losing the final by 94 runs in reply to Warriors' target of 204 runs. [23]

Deandra Jalisa Shakira Dottin is a Barbadian cricketer and former track and field athlete. A right-handed batter and right-arm fast bowler, Dottin made her debut for the West Indies women's cricket team in June 2008. She plays as a hard-hitting lower-order batter, and scored the first century in a Women's Twenty20 International in 2010. She played in her 100th Women's One Day International (WODI) match, when the West Indies played India in the group stage of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup, on 29 June 2017. She plays domestic cricket for Barbados, Trinbago Knight Riders, Adelaide Strikers and North West Thunder, and has previously played for Trinidad and Tobago, Lancashire Thunder, London Spirit, Perth Scorchers, Brisbane Heat, Trailblazers and Supernovas.
Atapattu Mudiyanselage Chamari Jayangani is a Sri Lankan cricketer and the current captain of the women's Twenty20 International team of Sri Lanka. She had a short stint as the captain of the Sri Lanka women's team, and was succeeded by the previous captain Shashikala Siriwardene. Chamari was the tenth captain for Sri Lanka women's national cricket team, winning only one ODI, with 13 losses. In November 2017, she was named the Women's Cricketer of the Year for the 2016–17 season at Sri Lanka Cricket's annual awards. She is the first Sri Lankan woman to play in franchise cricket.
Hayley Kristen Matthews is a Barbadian sportswoman. She plays international cricket for the West Indies as an all-rounder, batting right-handed and bowling right-arm off break. She plays domestic cricket for Barbados, Barbados Royals and Melbourne Renegades, and has previously played for Tasmania, Lancashire Thunder, Southern Vipers, Loughborough Lightning, Velocity and Hobart Hurricanes. She has also represented Barbados in the javelin throw at several international track and field competitions. In June 2022, Matthews was named as the captain of the West Indies women's cricket team, taking over from Stafanie Taylor.
Kathryn Emma Bryce is a Scottish cricketer and the current captain of the national women's cricket team. At the domestic level, she plays for the Watsonian cricket club, and for English teams The Blaze and Derbyshire; she has also been drafted by Manchester Originals. Previously, she has taken the field for English teams Warwickshire, Loughborough Lightning, Lincolnshire and Trent Rockets.
Sterre Laurien Kalis is a Dutch cricketer who plays for the national cricket team as a right-handed batter. At domestic level, she plays for the English teams Northern Diamonds, Birmingham Phoenix and North East Warriors, and has previously played for Essex and Northern Superchargers. She has also taken the field for other domestic teams in the Netherlands and Australia.
Babette Johanna Adriana de Leede is a Dutch cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter. She played for the Netherlands women's national cricket team in the 2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier in November 2015.

The tournament, sanctioned by the ICC, was privately-run by FairBreak Global, a company that aims to promote gender equality. Players from 35 countries were spread across six teams. The tournament was won by Tornadoes, who beat Falcons in the final by 8 wickets.

The India women's cricket team toured Sri Lanka to play against the Sri Lanka women's cricket team in June and July 2022. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day International (WODI) and three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. The WODI matches were part of 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship. Both teams used the matches as preparation for the women's cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Harmanpreet Kaur was named as India's new captain for the tour, after Mithali Raj announced her retirement from international cricket.
FairBreak Global is an Australian company that aims to improve gender equality, especially in relation to the game of cricket. In particular, it seeks to improve the financial gap between men's and women's cricket, along with differences in quality of play and available opportunities for women.
Fatuma Omari Kibasu is a Tanzanian cricketer who plays for the Tanzania women's national cricket team and also served as a former captain of the national side. She is the all-time leading runscorer for Tanzania in WT20I with 855 runs. She remains the only Tanzanian woman to score century at international level. She is also the only Tanzanian woman to have a scored a century in WT20I and the only Tanzanian to have scored multiple centuries in T20I cricket. She holds the current record for the highest individual score for Tanzania in WT20Is.
The 2023 FairBreak Invitational T20 was the second edition of the FairBreak Invitational T20, a women's Twenty20 cricket competition, which was held from 3 to 16 April 2023 at the Kowloon Cricket Club in Hong Kong. The tournament, sanctioned by the ICC, was being privately run by FairBreak Global, a company that aims to promote gender equality. A total of 90 players from 28 countries were spread across six teams. The tournament was won by Warriors, who beat Falcons in the final by 94 runs.
South Coast Sapphires are a women's cricket team that compete in the FairBreak Invitational T20. The team is geographically based in South Coast, Australia. The team was founded in 2022. They are currently being captained by Sana Mir of Pakistan and coached by Shane Deitz.
