Wide Awake in America is a four-track extended play by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 20 May 1985 through Island Records. It combines two live performances of songs from the group's 1984 album The Unforgettable Fire with two B-sides from the era, which had previously been available only in the United Kingdom. Wide Awake in America was originally released only in North America and Japan but it charted in the UK as an import. It was re-released internationally in 1990.

The album was originally to be titled "Watch the Sunlight Burn", but was changed prior to its release. A music video was created for the song "Stand Up".
The Edges of Twilight is the third album by Canadian rock band The Tea Party, released in 1995. The album features many instruments from around the world, giving various songs a strong world music flavour in addition to the rock/blues influences evident in the band's earlier releases. Jeff Burrows explained that "basically we wanted to expand upon the initial idea that we tried on Splendor Solis, which was trying to incorporate different styles of world music into our music. So with this album we became more familiar with many more instruments. In our minds we were trying to do for a rock album what Peter Gabriel does to pop by infusing various cultures, percussion and exotic sounds into it."
Just Surrender is an American rock band from Dover Plains, New York, formerly known as A Second Chance, formed by three high school friends: Jason "Jay" Maffucci, Andy Meunier and Steve Miller. The vocalist/guitarist Dan Simons, formerly of The Record Collection, joined the original three and it was a four-piece until 2008. The band is known for the up-beat mood in its music and for not having a lead vocalist, but rather having two vocalists who "share the spotlight". The group has released three studio albums and one EP.

According to Mitch James, the band's bass player, the album has sold a little over 200,000 copies to date, short of the platinum status of their self-titled debut. The song "Breathing Slowly" was also on the band's first album, Numb, which they released in 1999 under the name The Nothing.

Eli Young Band is an American country music band composed of members who met while students at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas: Mike Eli, James Young (guitar), Jon Jones, and Chris Thompson (drums). They released their self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by the Carnival records release Level in 2005. Their third album, Jet Black & Jealous, was released in 2008 by Universal South Records. A second major-label album, Life at Best, was released in 2011 by Republic Nashville, with 10,000 Towns following in early 2014. The band has charted eight times on the Billboard country charts, with four of their singles having reached No. 1: "Crazy Girl", which was the top country song of 2011 according to Billboard Year-End, along with "Even If It Breaks Your Heart", "Drunk Last Night", and "Love Ain't".

On 17 April 2009, the first single "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake" was released on iTunes worldwide. The album was available to Spotify Premium customers from 29 May, and it was officially released 2 June. The second single, "Beatbox" was released on 12 January 2010 on iTunes exclusively. The track "Home Is Where Your Heart Is" is featured on the second part of the 5th season of the MTV reality show The Hills. "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake" is featured on episode eight, season one of The Vampire Diaries. "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake" was given a notable cover version by Miss Li.

It is a loose concept album divided into three movements which deal with the cyclical nature of people's lives. The album can be played in an infinite repeated loop, because it begins and ends with a ticking clock. The album artwork features an intricate ambigram design designed by Polish artist Daniel Dostal. The album had success on Canadian campus radio, charting with !earshot on a number of stations.
