Farah Zeb Khalid also known as Farah X, is a Pakistani American director and editor. [1] [2] [3] She is known for her work on the documentary film The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion . [4] [5]
Farah was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in Los Angeles, California. In 1995, she modeled in London and Paris before returning to Los Angeles to attend the USC School of Cinematic Arts undergraduate program. [1] In 2005, she joined Sunset Edit as their only female editor. She has worked with singers such as Prince, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Rapsody. [6] [7] In 2006, she directed a segment for the feature documentary Dropped. [8] In 2015, Farah directed a piece for Mariah Carey’s Infinity. [9]
In 2019, Farah directed a music video for Rapsody's Oprah, featuring Leikeli47 and Reyna Biddy, which won Best Music Video at the Urbanworld Film Festival in 2020. [10] [11] Farah co-directed The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion , along with Lisa Cortes, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. [12] It also won six Best Documentary awards including at the Sidewalk Film Festival and Milwaukee Film Festival. [13] [14]
In 2021, Farah directed a five episode online series, SeeHer: Multiplicity, which won a Gracie award for Original Programming in 2022. [15] The series also won 2022 gold and silver Telly awards. [16]

Mariah Carey is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" and the "Queen of Christmas", she is known for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register. Carey rose to fame in 1990 with her eponymous debut album. She was the first artist to have her first five singles reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".
Shawntae Harris-Dupart, better known by her stage name Da Brat, is an American rapper. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she began her career in 1992, the year she signed with So So Def Records. Her debut album Funkdafied (1994) sold one million copies, making her the first female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification, and the second overall female rap act after Salt-N-Pepa.
Butterfly is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, released on September 16, 1997, by Columbia Records. The album contained both hip hop and urban adult contemporary sounds, as well as some softer and more contemporary melodies. Throughout the project, Carey worked with Walter Afanasieff, with whom she had written and produced most of the material from her previous albums. She also worked with many famed hip hop producers and rappers, such as Sean "Puffy" Combs, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott and the Trackmasters. With the latter acts producing most of the album, Butterfly deviated from the adult contemporary sound of Carey's previous albums.

"Heartbreaker" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey for her seventh studio album Rainbow (1999). It was released on August 23, 1999, by Columbia Records as the lead single from Rainbow. The song was written by Carey and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, and produced by Carey and DJ Clue. Additional writers are credited, since the song's hook is built around a sample from "Attack of the Name Game" by Stacy Lattisaw. "Fantasy" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter, and record producer Mariah Carey for her fifth studio album, Daydream (1995), released on September 12, 1995, by Columbia Records as the lead single from the album. The song was written by Carey and Dave Hall, both serving as primary producers. The song heavily samples Tom Tom Club's 1981 song "Genius of Love" and incorporates various other beats and grooves arranged by the former. The song's lyrics describe a woman who is in love with a man, and how every time she sees him she starts fantasizing about an impossible relationship with him. The remix for the song features rap verses from Ol' Dirty Bastard, something Carey arranged to assist in her crossover into the hip-hop market and credited for introducing R&B and hip hop collaboration into mainstream pop culture, and for popularizing rap as a featuring act.

"#Beautiful" was written by Carey, Miguel, Nathan Perez, Brooke Davis, Mac Robinson, and Brian Keith Warfield, with Carey, Miguel and Perez producing the song. Released on May 6, 2013, Carey and Miguel did not reveal that they had collaborated on the song, until April 25, 2013, when Carey revealed the title in a 25-second teaser video during season twelve of American Idol.
