Farhat Abbas (born 22 June 1976) is an Indonesian celebrity and lawyer who is known for representing celebrities such as Ahmad Dhani, Soimah and Caisar.
Abbas was an unsuccessful candidate in the general election of Regional Head for Kolaka in Southeast Sulawesi in October 2013. [1] In addition, Abbas campaigned as an independent presidential candidate with the slogan "Aku Indonesia." [2] He also ran unsuccessfully as a legislative candidate in the 2014 presidential elections to represent the third electoral district of Jakarta in Senayan. [3]
In 2020, Abbas founded his own political party, the Indonesian Sovereign Nation Party, or Pandai. [4]
In 2002, Abbas married singer Nia Daniati. The couple divorced after 12 years of marriage in 2014. In May 2014, Abbas married widow Ani Muryadi.
Soon after, a woman named Rita Tresnawati went to the National Commission for Child Protection to reveal that Abbas did not recognize his son, Gusti Reyhan Gibayus, despite providing the child's birth certificate, which listed Abbas as the father. [5]
Abbas became involved in controversy when he commented on Twitter regarding the case of car registration imposed by Jakarta's co-government Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (also known as Ahok). [6] Some parties had accused Abbas of racist comments. As a result, Abbas has reported Chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association Anton Medan and Intellectual Community of Muda Betawi leader Ramdan Alamsyah to Polda Metro Jaya. [7] Abbas admitted that he made the comments, but denies that he is a racist. [8]
After the conclusion of his case with Jakarta co-government Ahok, Abbas was involved in hostility with Ahmad Dhani's son Ahmad Al Ghazali and El Rumi, due to insulting his father on Twitter. Abbas accepted Ghazali's challenge to a boxing duel. [9] Abbas was also involved in hostility with dangdut singer Soimah, due to her kebaya appearance in @Show_imah. [10] Abbas was further involved in controversy with Arya Wiguna, involving accusations of cheating. [11]
Abbas was alleged to have had an affair with his spokeswoman, Regina Andriane Saputra, the wife of politician Ilal Ferhard. [12]
Indonesian Idol is an Indonesian reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by RCTI Production Team and FremantleMedia Asia. The show began airing on RCTI in March 2004 and became one of the most popular shows in the history of Indonesian television. Part of the Idol franchise, it was as a spin-off from the UK show Pop Idol.

Ratu was an Indonesian music duo formed in 1999 with Maia Estianty, then the wife of musician Ahmad Dhani, on instruments and Pinkan Mambo on vocals. Ratu entered the Indonesian musical scene with their first album, Bersama. After a short break caused by Mambo's departure in 2004, the group formed anew with Mulan Kwok as vocalist. This new line-up proved more successful, with their most successful songs – "Teman Tapi Mesra" and "Lelaki Buaya Darat" ("Womaniser") – released in this period; both song titles later became common terms in the Indonesian vocabulary. The group's second studio album, No. Satu, sold 200,000 copies on the day of its release, a record for an album by an Indonesian female group. The group dissolved in 2007.

November 2016 Jakarta protests refer to an Islamist mass protest which took place on 4 November 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was attended by an estimated 50,000–200,000 protesters, and was aimed against the Governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, for alleged blasphemy of the Quran, the Islamic holy book. A counter-protest led by government officials and social activists in support of interfaith unity was led on 30 November.
On 24 May 2017, two explosions occurred at a bus terminal in Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta. Police confirmed that the explosions were caused by multiple explosive devices found in the toilet and in another part of the terminal. The bombings killed five people: three policemen and two attackers. The 11 injured people were taken to multiple hospitals across the Eastern Jakarta area.
Djarot Saiful Hidayat is an Indonesian politician who is currently a member of the People's Representative Council. He was the governor of Jakarta, in office between 15 June and 15 October 2017 after being acting governor since 9 May. He replaced his predecessor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama when the latter was found guilty of blasphemy against Islam. He was appointed by Basuki as Deputy Governor in 2014 to fill the gap left by the election of Joko Widodo as president.

The Transjakarta Corridor 1 is the Transjakarta bus rapid transit route in Jakarta, Indonesia. The route operates between Blok M Terminal and Jakarta Kota railway station. It is the first route of the Transjakarta BRT system. The roads that are traversed by Corridor 1 are along Jalan Sultan Hasanuddin, Trunojoyo, Sisingamangaraja, Sudirman, MH Thamrin, Medan Merdeka Barat, Gajah Mada / Hayam Wuruk, Pintu Besar Utara, Kali Besar Barat, Kunir, and Lada Dalam. Key integration points include Dukuh Atas TOD that is currently an integration point for four transport modes, Jakarta Kota station which serves KRL Commuterline, and Harmoni station that is one of the main hubs in the BRT system. From Blok M to Bundaran HI ASTRA stations, this corridor is in parallel with North–South Line of the Jakarta MRT, thus many of the BRT stations are integrated directly with the MRT stations. Currently, all bus stations are served by buses 24 hours a day.
