Several politico-constitutional arrangements use reserved political positions, especially when endeavoring to ensure the rights of women, minorities or other segments of society, or preserving a political balance of power.
The Senate of Pakistan or Aiwān-e-Bālā Pākistān, constitutionally the House of the Federation, is the upper house of the bicameral Parliament of Pakistan. As of 2023, It has a maximum membership of 96, of which 92 are elected by the provincial legislatures using single transferable vote. Four represent the Federal Capital. Members sit for terms lasting six years, with half of the house up for election every three years. Unlike the National Assembly, the Senate is a continuing chamber and hence not subject to dissolution.
The National Assembly of Pakistan is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Pakistan, with the upper house being the Senate. As of 2023, the National Assembly has a maximum membership of 336, of which 266 are directly elected by an adult universal suffrage and a first-past-the-post system to represent their respective constituencies, while 70 are elected on reserved seats for women and religious minorities from all over the country. Members hold their seats for five years or until the house is dissolved by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister. The house convenes at the Parliament House, Red Zone, Islamabad.
Bangladesh elects on national level a legislature with one house or chamber. The unicameral Jatiyo Sangshad, meaning national parliament, has 350 members of which 300 members are directly elected through a national election for a five-year term in single-seat constituencies while 50 memberships are reserved for the women who are selected by the ruling party or coalition. The Prime Minister is the head of the government. The president who is the head of the state is elected by the National Parliament. The president of Bangladesh is a ceremonial post and does not exercise any control over the running of the state.
Reservation is a system of caste-based affirmative action in India. Based on provisions in the Indian Constitution, it allows the Union Government and the States and Territories of India to set a percentage of reserved quotas or seats, in higher education admissions, employment, political bodies, etc., for "socially and educationally backward citizens."

It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan, having a total of 145 seats, with 115 general seats, 26 seats reserved for women and 4 reserved for non-Muslims.
Samina Khalid Ghurki is a Pakistani politician who served as the Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education from November 2008 until February 2011. Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan is a Pakistani politician who served as Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, in the Abbasi cabinet from April to May 2018. Previously she served as the Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication of Pakistan from June 2013 to July 2017 in the third Sharif ministry and again from August 2017 to April 2018 in the Abbasi ministry. She had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008 to May 2018 representing the Pakistan Muslim League (N). In the 2024 Pakistani Senate election, Anusha emerged victorious in the senate seats reserved for women.
Marriyum Aurangzeb is a Pakistani politician who currently serves as Senior Minister in the Government of Punjab, in office since March 2024.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja is a Pakistani politician who is the current Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, in office since 12 March 2024. She has been a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since June 2013 and previously served as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs with the status of Minister of State.
Gulnaz Shahzadi is a Pakistani politician who was a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, from May 2013 to May 2018.
Hina Parvez Butt is a Pakistani politician who is the current Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority and a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab since 2013.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election, 2024 is an election of members to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation which governs Greater Mumbai, the largest city in India. The election dates are yet to be announced by the state election commission and could be held in 2024.
