Farrhana Bhatt (born March 15, 1997) [1] is an Indian actress and activist who works in Hindi films and on streaming platforms. She is best known for her role Jasmeet in Laila Majnu and for participating in Colors TV's reality show Bigg Boss 19 where she finished as the first runner-up. [2] [3] [4] [5]
Bhatt was born on March 15, 1997 in Srinagar, India and hails from a Muslim family. [6] She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications and Journalism from the Government College for Women, Srinagar. However, her real transformation began when she moved to Mumbai to study acting at Anupam Kher’s prestigious Actor Prepares School.
In November 2025, a legal controversy erupted outside the house concerning statements made about Bhatt. Bhatt's family issued a formal legal notice to Roshan Garry Bhinder, the aunt of co-contestant Amaal Mallik, as well as the YouTube channel Fifafooz and YouTube India. [7] The legal action was initiated following a YouTube interview where Bhinder allegedly referred to Bhatt using the term "terrorist." Bhatt's family characterized the comments as "defamatory and communally charged," expressing deep distress over the "outrageous and baseless allegation." The legal notice demanded the immediate removal of the controversial video, a public apology from the involved parties, and ₹1 crore in damages for the alleged reputational and emotional harm caused to Bhatt. [8] [9]
In addition to her career in entertainment, Bhatt is an active advocate and leader in international youth development. She serves as the Representative for Special Interest Groups on the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC), the official representative body for over 1.5 billion young people across the Commonwealth's 56 member nations.
In her capacity as a CYC executive, she organized and led a seminar and cultural programme in New Delhi, India, on the occasion of the 31st World Disability Day, focusing on "Amplifying the Leadership of Youth with Disabilities." [10]
