The Necks are an Australian avant-garde jazz trio formed in 1987 by founding mainstays Chris Abrahams on piano and Hammond organ, Tony Buck on drums, percussion and electric guitar, and Lloyd Swanton on bass guitar and double bass. They play long improvisational pieces of up to an hour in length that explore the development and demise of repeating musical figures characteristic of the New York School of long-form Minimal Music as practiced by La Monte Young, Terry Riley, Steve Reich and Rhys Chatham; and the free improvisation jazz music of Cecil Taylor.
The John Butler Trio were an Australian roots-rock band led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler, an APRA and ARIA-award-winning musician. They formed in Fremantle in 1998 with Jason McGann on drums, Gavin Shoesmith on bass and John Butler on vocals. By 2009, the trio consisted of Butler with Byron Luiters on bass and Nicky Bomba on drums and percussion, the latter being replaced by Grant Gerathy in 2013. After both Luiters and Gerathy exited the trio in early 2019, bassist OJ Newcomb and drummer Terepai Richmond joined the band, accompanied by touring musician Elana Stone on keyboards, percussion and backing vocals.
Superheist are an Australian nu metal band formed in 1993 by mainstay guitarist and backing vocalist DW Norton. They have released five studio albums, the first two, The Prize Recruit (2001) and Identical Remote Controlled Reactions (2002), reached the top 20 on the ARIA albums chart Four singles, "Crank the System" (2000), "Bullet" (2001), "7 Years" and "A Dignified Rage" peaked in the ARIA singles chart top 50. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2001 their producer-engineer Kalju Tonuma was nominated for Producer of the Year and Engineer of the Year for The Prize Recruit. At the 2002 ceremony, Norton and Adam Rhodes were nominated for Engineer of the Year for "A Dignified Rage". They disbanded in 2004. After a twelve-year hiatus, Norton reformed Superheist with new members. Their third studio album Ghosts of the Social Dead (2016) reached No. 3 on the AIR Charts. They issued two non-charting studio albums, Sidewinder and MMXX. Founding drummer Sean Pentecost died in 2020.
Daysend were an Australian melodic death metal band formed in 2002 by mainstays Aaron Bilbija on guitars and Meredith Webster on bass guitar. They were joined later that year by Wayne Morris on drums. From 2003 to 2006 their lead vocalist was Simon Calabrese, who was replaced by Mark McKernan. The group released three albums, Severance, The Warning and Within the Eye of Chaos, before disbanding in May 2011.
Everytime is the first single released by Australian hip hop group Butterfingers. It was released as an EP on 7 April 2003 on the band's in-house Valley Trash label and distributed by MGM Distribution.

Severance is the debut album by Australian melodic death metal band Daysend. It was released by Chatterbox Records in Australia on 3 November 2003 and in the United States by Metal Blade and Europe by Locomotive Records in November 2004. The song "Beggars With Knives" was included on the Faultline Records compilation album Metal for the Brain 2005 in 2005. Severance took ten days to record and was produced by DW Norton and Nik Tropiano.
Catherine Duc is a Vietnamese-Australian composer and producer of music blending elements of ambient, classical, electronica and world music. Her work has been aired on Australian Broadcasting Corporation's ABC Jazz. In 2005 Duc issued her debut album, Visions and Dreams.
Frankenbok is an Australian heavy metal band from Melbourne. The band was founded in 1997 by guitarist Aaron Butler and vocalist Adam 'Hutch' Glynn and have since released three full-length albums and one EP. Frankenbok have toured Australia on numerous occasions, building a strong cult following in their homeland.
Birds of Tokyo is the debut four-track extended play from Australian alternative rockers, Birds of Tokyo, which was released in January 2005 on independent label, Egg Records, through MGM Distribution.
Horsehead are an Australian hard rock band which formed in late 1991 with Scott Kingman on guitar (ex-Cattletruck), Cameron McKenzie on guitar, Andy McLean on vocals, Mick Vallance on bass guitar and Craig Waugh on drums. They toured nationally and internationally as well as supporting United States group, Metallica, on the Australian leg of their April 1998 tour. The band issued three albums, Horsehead (1993), Onism (1996) and Goodbye Mothership (1999) before disbanding in 2000. According to Australian rock music historian, Ian McFarlane, their style of "stadium rock mixed a Led Zeppelinesque bottom-end kick with gut-thumping Faith No More-styled riffs. Nothing subtle or innovative, but everything delivered with great force and conviction".

Stonefield are an Australian rock band comprising the four Findlay sisters: Amy, Hannah, Sarah, and Holly. They were formed in 2006 as Iotah in Darraweit Guim, a small town in rural Victoria. The track was co-written by all five members, Richard William "DW" Norton on lead guitar, backing vocals; Joseph Andrew Biro on lead vocals; Sean Robert P Pentecost on drums; Fetah Sabawi on synthesisers and samplers; and Andrew Corey Dedman on bass guitar. Norton co-produced the track with Adam Rhodes at Backbeach Studios in Rye, Victoria. The single reached No. 29 on the ARIA Singles Chart – the group's highest peaking single.
Richard William "DW" Norton, is a Scottish-born Australian entertainer, songwriter, producer, guitarist and founding mainstay of metallers, Superheist. In 1998 he established Faultline Records – he has worked as the label's in house producer and CEO. He lives with his wife and fellow artist, London Gabraelle-Norton.
