Fauquier High School is a public high school in Warrenton, Virginia, United States. The school is part of Fauquier County Public Schools and is located at 705 Waterloo Road. Its mascot is the falcon.
Fauquier opened in 1963 and is the oldest high school in Fauquier County. The county was primarily a rural area, but has experienced a high rate of growth since the 1990s, which led to Liberty High School's opening in 1994, and Kettle Run High School's opening in the fall of 2008.
In 2015, the school's student-run newspaper, The Falconer, was prohibited by the school administration from publishing an article about student drug use. The article eventually was published in the local publication Fauquier Now with a substantially wider audience. [4]
In 2023, principal Kraig Kelican died from injuries he sustained in a vehicular accident while driving to school. The school's football field was renamed to Kelican Field in his honor. [5]
Laurel Ridge Community College offers a dual enrollment program where students can earn college credit while in high school. The school's scholastic bowl team competes annually on It's Academic .
Warrenton is a town in Fauquier County, Virginia, of which it is the seat of government. The population was 10,057 as of the 2020 census, an increase from 9,611 at the 2010 census and 6,670 at the 2000 census. The estimated population in July 2021 was 10,109. It is at the junction of U.S. Route 15, U.S. Route 17, U.S. Route 29, and U.S. Route 211. The town is in the Piedmont region of Virginia just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The well-known Airlie Conference Center is 3 miles (5 km) north of Warrenton, and the historic Vint Hill Farms military facility is 9 miles (14 km) east. Fauquier Hospital is located in the town. Surrounded by Virginia wine and horse country, Warrenton is a popular destination outside Washington, D.C.

The Fauquier Institute or Fauquier Female Institute was a small private school in Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. It operated from 1860 through the late 1920s. It was a boarding school and a day school, teaching primary, preparatory, and collegiate female students. It advertised "elegant accommodations, excellent advantages, reliable terms."
