Background

Federal College of Education, Iwo was established in 2020 at Iwo, Osun State, by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. [3] [4] The college is among the 30 newly established higher institution learning established by the Buhari's administration since assuming power In 2015. [5] The pioneer Provost is Professor Rafiu Adebayo appointed in April 2021. [6]

As part of the take off-plan, the federal government of Nigeria approved NGN 1.3 billion in the 2022 budget allocation to the collegehttps://fceiwo.edu.ng/tag/education/. [3] In June 2021, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi presented the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), to the management team on the permanent site of the institution. [7]

Iwo is a city in Osun State, Nigeria. The Iwo people, like all other people of the Yoruba kingdom, are said to have originated from Ile-Ife, where they migrated sometimes in the 11th century according to Alademomi kenyon and Prince Adelegan Adegbola (2009). The only predicted land with the symbol of the parrots is the Iwo kingdom. The city was formerly part of old Oyo state and was later separated and became one of the major townships in Osun State, Nigeria.

Razaq Deremi Abubakre is former vice-chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He is former Vice-Chancellor and Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission between 2012 and 2018. He was also a former chairman, College of Education, Ila Orangun, Osun State and former Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin. He did his PhD in Arabic literature at the School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London from 1977 to 1980 on Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan. He was National President of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria. He graduated with a first-class degree. He also served as professor of Arabic Language and Literature.

Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Tegbosun III, popularly known as Olowu of Kuta, is a member of a Nigerian royal family and the incumbent Olowu of Kuta.
