The Federation of Turkish American Associations is a non-profit organization established in 1956 for the purpose of uniting and supporting the Turkish American community within the United States. The Federation has evolved with the changing times and has expanded in size, membership, and purpose since its founding.
The Federation today consists of over 63 member associations organizations with a majority of these groups located in the Northeast region of the United States. Member organizations consist of associations of different ethnic, technical, and social backgrounds including the Turkic nations (e.g. Azerbaijanis, Uzbeks, and Karachays). Each association serves to support its own members through various functions and events. The Federation operates as a conduit within the network of member organizations.
The Federation’s organizational structure into 3 bodies: Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Inspection Committee.
Its President for the term 2014-2016 is Atilla Pak. Atilla Pak placed his candidacy for President again in 2016 and was victorious securing a majority vote via Board of Directors for the 2016-2018 term. [1]
One of the main aims is to provide maximum exposure of Turkish culture, folklore, literature, music, history, and overall knowledge of Turkey to the United States public. This is achieved through cultural activities and other public relations activities throughout the United States such as a Turkish Parade.
A major responsibility is to provide support to the Turkish American community throughout the United States. This support includes the referral of individuals, both Turkish and non-Turkish, to qualified professionals.
The organization also tries to promote business relations between Turkish and non-Turkish companies that wish to conduct business with the Turkish community within the United States or abroad.
It organized the traditional "Turkish Day Parade" and Festival in New York City on 19 May 2018. [2]

Irene Hirano Inouye was the founding President of the U.S.-Japan Council, a position she held ever since she helped create the organization in 2009 until her death. It was founded in 1949 and it is the oldest faculty-based student organisation. Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV) was founded and incorporated by Zuriana (Ani) Zonneveld and Pamela K. Taylor in 2007, headquartered in Los Angeles with a regional office in Malaysia and The Netherlands. It is a grassroots human rights organization with networks in Bangladesh, Canada, France, Chile, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia, and throughout the U.S. MPV provides educational and theological resources for Muslims with a liberal or progressive Islamic worldview. In response to global discourse of criticism and the radicalization of Islam, MPV seeks to dismiss false ideologies about Muslims and Islam. Through their global advocacy and community programs MPV enlighten Muslims and non-Muslim populations globally. On October 1, 2017 in Tunisia, MPV was a founding member of the Alliance of Inclusive Muslims, an umbrella human rights association made up of 14 member organizations spanning five continents.
The Hispanic Federation (HF) is a U.S based non-governmental organization focused on supporting Hispanic communities through local, state, and national advocacy. The Federation was founded in New York City in 1990 by a small group of Latino leaders, establishing initiatives to advocate for the interests of the Hispanic community and has expanded to establish programs, and policies in 16 states. The organization's objective is to empower and advance the Hispanic community primarily through service pillars, membership services, advocacy, and community programs. The Federation has formed relationships with a network of 100 Latino grassroots nonprofits, as well as collaborating with organizations, government officials, and private sector partners to enact systemic change related to a variety of socioeconomic issues for Hispanic communities. The Federation has gained national recognition for its work in areas of education, health, immigration, economic empowerment, civic engagement, environment, and organizational development to strengthening Latino institutions to ultimately increase the quality of life within Hispanic communities.
