Felix Dean (born 27 June 1997) is a former Australian child actor, known for playing VJ Patterson in the soap opera Home and Away from 2007 and 2014. He also appeared in the sketch comedy series Comedy Inc. .

Biography

Early and personal life

Dean was born in Sydney, New South Wales on 27 June 1997. [1] He lives in Erskineville with his family.

On 13 October 2021, Joe Anderton of Digital Spy reported that Dean had been arrested for allegedly attacking a store worker. [2] He was charged with a number of offences, including affray, shoplifting, and breaching bail; the conditions of which included a curfew and drug and alcohol tests. [2] Dean had previously been arrested in September and charged with intent to rob and common assault. [2] He was also charged with property damage relating to an alleged incident with a taxi driver in January 2021. [2] Dean was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in court on 19 October 2021. [2]

Early career

In 2004, Dean appeared in the television miniseries, Jessica , based on the novel by Bryce Courteney. Two years later he appeared as a guest in medical drama All Saints as Todd McFarlane. In 2007, Dean made several appearances in the sketch comedy series Comedy Inc. . [2]

Home and Away

Dean, in 2007 joined the cast of television series Home and Away , when we was given the role of VJ Patterson. [3] For his portrayal of VJ, he was nominated for Best Young Actor at the 2008 and 2009 Inside Soap Awards. [2] [4] He left the serial in 2014 and the role of VJ was recast. [5]

Other roles

In November 2011, Dean joined the cast of Sam Atwell's play, Bondi Dreaming. The play ran at the Bondi Pavilion until 3 December 2011. [6] [7] he has appeared also in several television commercials.

Miles Copeland (<i>Home and Away</i>) Fictional character in Home and Away

Miles "Milco" Copeland is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away, played by Josh Quong Tart. He debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 30 November 2007. Ryley Mickle and Jackson Edwards played Miles in flashback sequences, showing him at ages three and eight years old respectively. During the early years of Home and Away, Sally Fletcher often spoke of an imaginary friend she called "Milco". When Ritchie announced her departure from the soap, producers decided to introduce the real Milco, as regular character Miles Copeland. The development was described by the media as a "legacy storyline." Quong Tart announced his departure from Home and Away in October 2011. Miles departed on 23 November 2011.

The Great Storm (<i>Home and Away</i>)

The Great Storm is a group of four episodes of the Australian soap opera Home and Away, broadcast between 5 and 8 September 2011 on Network Seven, during the show's twenty-fourth season. The episodes focused on a severe storm which crosses over the fictional town of Summer Bay and leaves several of the serial's characters in danger. Home and Away's producer Cameron Welsh first announced intention to screen the storyline in June 2011. It was self-described to be the "biggest stunt/disaster storyline" to ever feature in the serial. In the months prior to its screening, the cast filmed a series of stunts for the episodes on a shoot lasting eleven days. It marked the first time that Home and Away used a wide combination of special effects such as FX, green screen, wind machines and rain machines. Along with more time than usual spent filming the block of episodes, the storyline became Home and Away's most expensive to date. Welsh said that the use of machinery became problematic during filming so additional dialogue recordings were added to the scenes during post-production.

Vincent Alexandros "VJ" Patterson, Jr. is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away. VJ has been portrayed by various child actors since his introduction. Felix Dean played the role from 2007 until it was recast in 2014, and Matthew Little took over. VJ made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 30 November 2001. He is the son of Leah Patterson and Vinnie Patterson. After departing on 23 November 2017, he made a brief appearance in video footage on 5 February 2018. Little reprised the role in 2024 for Leah's wedding to Justin Morgan.

Martin "Ash" Ashford is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by George Mason. The character made his first screen appearance on 27 October 2014. When Mason auditioned he believed Ash to be a "great character" and moved from Melbourne to accept the role. Ash is characterised as a tough, ex-prisoner who has a backstory of criminal activity. He was sent to prison after committing a robbery with Dean Sanderson, but he framed Ash as the sole perpetrator and turned his sister Billie against him.

Belinda "Billie" Ashford is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Home and Away, played by Tessa de Josselin. The actress was first pictured on set in November 2014, before it was announced the following year that she had joined the cast as the younger sister of established character Martin Ashford. De Josselin shot her first scenes in a cemetery on the Central Coast. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 27 April 2015. Summer Ranger is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Rhiannon Clements. Clements' casting was announced on 19 October 2020, and the actress made her first appearance on 25 November 2020. Summer was introduced as the daughter of established character Cormac Ranger. Two sides of Summer's personality have been explored since her introduction, with scenes showing her to have "sweetness and light" to her, while also possessing a nasty side. Digital Spy wrote that her introduction would have troubling consequences for Brody Hudson, Warren Fox and Felix Westwood, all of whom were involved in an attack on her father. Summer was also billed as a "frenemy" for Sienna Blake, with who she later forms a romantic connection. Pearl Anderson is a fictional character from the British soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Dawn Hope. The character and casting was announced in August 2021 and Hope made her first appearance as Pearl in Episode 5675, which was broadcast on 10 September of that year. Pearl was introduced as a family friend and potential love interest for Walter Deveraux. Pearl's initial storylines saw her reminiscing with Walter and clashing with his daughter, Martine Deveraux, when she attempts to mother her. Hope characterised Pearl as being lonely and wanting to feel needed, though she also believed that she also called her fun-loving with a stylish and vibrant energy. Pearl later supports Frankie Osborne when she reveals that she has been sexually abused by her brother and Pearl takes her under her wing. The plot was used to explore Pearl's backstory as she reveals that her sister was abused by their brother. Pearl and Jack's relationship was well-received by critics, with Inside Soap calling it the hottest new romance in the soap.
