The Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. With a capacity of 87,411, it is the largest in Southeast Asia and the eighth largest football stadium in the world.
The 2017 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 29th Southeast Asian Games and commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event that took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was the sixth time that Malaysia hosted the games and its first time since 2001. Previously, it had also hosted the 1965, 1971, 1977 and 1989 editions of the games. This was the first and last time Malaysia hosted the games. Malaysia is the eighth and the last FESPIC organisation member to host the FESPIC games after Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, Thailand, and South Korea. Around 3,641 athletes from 46 nations competed at the games which featured 19 sports. The games was opened by Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the KLFA stadium.
Amir Faiz Amirul is a Malaysian chess player. He is the youngest Candidate Master of Fédération Internationale des Échecs or World Chess Federation (FIDE) in Malaysia's history. He earned the title of Candidate Master at age 7 years and 5 months. Despite finishing level on points with the winner, he emerged as a Runner-Up on tie-break in the 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship in 2014 which was held in Washington High School in Taichung, Taiwan.
